I don't know if someone has had this problem or if it's been asked before, but the 'unread' status of threads and posts is sometimes... erratic.
Usually when I go to a sub-forum there are a few threads with unread posts, I read the first one and hit the back button. When I do that they're all marked as 'read', which is wrong.
Any hint on a reason why?

Try clicking on the navigation links instead of using the back button.
You cannot expect any site to be able to track your navigation correctly if you often use the back button, depending on your settings there is usually no new page request made when you use the back button so the site is oblivious to the way you navigate through the site.
It works with a timeout, all threads are marked read after a certain time with no user activity.

allrighty now I get it : I just shouldn't open 10 quadrizillion different sites and try to read them all at the same time
