Is there a time table/will it be made public before the party? I would like to avoid D-con's set as much as possible. Last time in leuven with limewax was more than enough Frown

I don't understand why most parties screw up a nice hard headline with clownstep dj's like d-con? It's a completely different style - and a totally different public...

lol
it's weird (to me ) that u still consider dcon a jump-up dj.. i mean, i'm really trying to figure out how you got this picture.
i've know him (as a dj) for many many years, and the reason off!ce have asked him to come and play, is because we feel he is one of the few dj's in belgium that manages to play a phat set without having to use wobble...

have u ever donwloaded a set of his? check out his sit www.dconvict.be and download one of 'em, maybe we can get this dellusion out of the way once and for all Big Grin

@off!ce - I'm not gonna argue about styles - being it jump-up or clownstep - I don't care, I don't like them anyway. I've really seen/heard dcon play more than once, his origins are in my backjard - the youthcenter here in Dendermonde... I never really liked his style, and it certainly didn't go well with Limewaxe's style, my suspicions were only confirmed that night. Dylan & Robyn certainly aren't soft & wobbly either, so I suspect (and expect) that the same thing will happen for me.

You recommend me to download D-Con's sets, which I did - and the first random seek in it was a wobbly sound - sorry Smile I have to admit - of the rest of the set I downloaded (one of the few that's still online?) I can listen to and was actually better than any time I've heard him play for a public, no sudden style-jumps and strange track-choices, but even some kind of a consitent build-up. But then again, this mix was a jungletrain promo - not really a reference imho - no audience was present when recorded, and that makes a huge difference. Also, listening @home and listening to a set on a dancefloor is smth completely different...
I know he never got me moving on the dance-floor, almost every time I heard him he played a few better records (to my taste) - and then suddenly switched to smth more jump-up, clownstep, cheesy, wobbly or soft while I'm just warming up, expecting smth harder - and he did that each time (and no - the crowd was never stalling at that moment). I don't know what it is - he doesn't want to play harder stuff for too long, doesn't have any real evil dark stuff or just sometimes completely ignores if the next record might not fit with the one playing before...

I would recommend you to download a few Dylan, Robyn, Tech itch and Limewax sets - play them for some time and then switch to a D-con set, a live-one - not a "recorded-at-home"-one (if you can find them) - I think you'll hear what I mean Smile

Now, if you get a headline like this, a lot of people are coming over for that headline, expecting a visit to hell, flooded by dark basses and evil drums - and a lot of those ppl (including me and Surya) are rather picky when it comes to musical choices Smile
Then you have other ppl who're not really into DnB that much and just like the parties - and they've heard the name dcon, probably even heard him play a couple of times. Maybe they've heard of Dylan & Robyn but don't know what to expect. You'd be amazed how many ppl here use dj's like dcon as a reference - and then be surprised what they get instead. Certainly in my neighbourhood, dcon is considered by a lot of ppl to be a dj playing rather solid & heavy shit, while most of them never even heard of tech itch....
During Limewax's set (ok - he is young talent - not really well-known yet, and maybe a bit more extreme Tongue ) - it was very clear that that wasn't what a such ppl had expected, and it weren't just a few. I went for a drink during limewax's set I actually overheard a conversation between a few guys questioning if this was still dnb and that this really wasn't their thing... And that weren't the only people just standing there, staring at the madness happening right in front of them, almost not being able to believe what they saw and heard...
