I bought this Phase 26 usb terratec audio interface/soundcard, and on it I have outputs for 5.1/7.1 surround systems. As I DJ, I need the second pair of the speakers to be set for the main amplifier, and the first pair for monitoring.
But I can't manage to set somehow to use all the pairs of ourputs I have here. It is not the problem with the sound card, it is with windows. In the 'Sounds and audio devices' section in Control Panel I have only one speaker setup (simple stereo), and no matter what I do I can't force windows to recognise or at least turn on the other output pairs.
Long way short - I need to be able to use 5.1 surround setup instead of the regular stereo.
Please helps ASAP

I got pretty much the same problem with my creative audigy2. In a program such as fruityloops or tracktor, I can use the asio driver and send different signals to any output I want. When using for example media player, or any other non-professional audio program I would like to be able to send the same stereo signal to both my pc speakers and my hifi amplifier. But there isn't really a way to do so.

Ok, I 'solved' it, it seems that the Phase 26 has different usage of the outputs on different operating mode, and I haven't read this one
Anyway, any of you know how to force winamp (or any other application) to use all the speakers present?

in my experience this should be done in the mixer panel (the one from windows or the one from ur soundcard itself)
just go to the prefrences an there put the speakers to the amount u got connected
