alt gr + E = é on US International
don't tell me you code PHP with an Azerty keyboard?
With Qwerty you have all the often used symbols like [] {} \ / ' " nicely clustered together at the right side, very easily accessible. Using an azerty keyboard drives me nuts when coding, and you are forced to either hold SHIFT to enter numbers or use the keypad!!
That's just insanely stupid for programming. Who cares for all those silly accented characters anyway
BTW Qwerty it is the keyboard layout of choice to type english and dutch!

I made the switch quite effortlessly when I lived in London. After an hour you're accustomed to it. I can now switch between both without problems.
My desktop has qwerty, my laptop azerty (couldn't get a qwerty model in belgium!!). When I make the switch some 'q's start to appear in unexpected places though during the first couple of lines
After a couple of minutes it is no problem anymore.

Jeez, call me an ignorant brit if you like, but I never really considered there were so many types of keyboard. Obviously there would be different set ups for japanese and chinese etc... but I never thought that there would be different setups for people using the same alphabets. Reminds me of something that confused me a while ago... My girlfriend is good at touch typing, and when she was travelling in europe, her e-mails where all confusing, Z's and Y's where mixed up and stuff like that. I guess I know why know. I'll stick with the qwertylicious all the same thanks. Im glad I didnt try to send any E-mails when I was in the Ukraine!

It's not that hard to make the switch. Where I work for the moment we have pc's with both qwerty and azerty keybords, and after the first minute or so you get used to it, since there are only a few text characters that are different, the special characters I don't know by heart anyway, so I still have to look. It's a bit of a problem when loggin in though, you always start by typing the keys you are used to. For programming qwerty is indeed easier, as chronic said. But you could argue wether the programming languages are made for the keyboard or the other way around.

Yeah, try installing an OS, or look in the keyboard settings, and look at the choice list. There's not only the different alphabet's and the difference between azerty and qwerty, but there are also belgian azerty layout, french azerty layout, ... all with little differences.
