Well, there are programs/bots that can hit multiple time on a link ya know... I think someone used that... I saw similar things even before.

It's not a bug, it's caused by download managers. That is software that initiates thousands of connections simultaneously in a vain attempt to increase download speeds.
The script has actually served up that track tens of thousands of times, so it is technically not a wrong number.
I could circumvent this by keeping track of the IP address of every download and prevent downloading the same track multiple times by the same person. I'm not going to do that BTW, it's not very important
