I was just thinkin that when i'm listening to a dnb track for the first time i'm sub conciously looking for a certain set of elements and structure to appeal to me.
However when i'm not concentrating hard on the music a really good liquid tune can just come up on me and make me really get into the vibe, like make me feel like i did back in 1997, when i was just getting into the general vibe and not the pigenhole state of affairs like there is today.
I would say without thinking bout it that its the hard techy dark-jump up kinda dnb i really really love but fuck man this music is so vast that i can get into liquid style tunes at the drop of a hat if not paying attention.
It just goes to show me how much material i put aside and ignore when shoppong for the latest tune, horrible thought really,, nothing hits the spot more for me than a grimey twisted individual tune or some g-dub or even neurofunk tunes for that matter but a whole DJ set of them i wouldnt like.
Some recent examples have had me tappin my toes even when sitting in the dentist room waiting for root canal surgery, i mean shit man - thats gotta be a good thing::
Potential Bad Boy - Girlz
Fresh - All That Jazz
Shy FX Feat. TopCat - Everyday
Roni Size Feat Beverly Knight - No More
P.S (Roni Size Feat Beverly Knight - No More)- this is a fuckin excellent tunes and is very good in the mix too, if anyone wants it get hold of me on msn an i'll be more than happy to share, - that goes for most of my tunes..
anyone else feel more open-minded on diff styles of drumnbass as opposed to other kinds of music
God bless this scene
P.P.S - the server was dowen again lastnight, i nearly slit my wrists......

I really like most drum n bass. for me its dark drum n bass
but it has to have a groove. i like roni size/no more,
it is a well put together track and catchy.
if i like it then ill buy it. ive got jungle/liquid/tech step/jazz step
etc love it all. a while back iheard a tune on amate compolation
cd called barcelona, icouldnt find any where. then i heard it on the
radio but it was [commercialized] i think. not the same and ruined it.
the beat sounded like they had toned down the kick and drums.
why, it wasnt aggresive in the first place.
we keep going

I can appreciate quite a veriaty of DnB genres acually, but when I go out I prefer them as hard as they come. I can really enjoy some atmospheric DnB or breakage tunes for listening, but not for shaking. They just don't do it for me. Maybe I should smoke some joints when I go out, then I wouldn't be so narrow minded maybe, but I prefer to stay sober and let the music get hold of me!

nah smokin spliffs is the worst thing i can think of doin when i go out to shake ma ass.
used to be into the drugs bigtime and have had my issues with them .
These days i would agree with surya let the music do the talking drugs jus get in the way, like they can make a tune in a rave sound amazing, but when you hear it sober a week later you can be like wot the fuck, this is shit
(and the reverse)
lol

when i first listend to dnb , it had a giant impact on me ... that was stuff i never heard before , my first dnb party was a techstep party by dj .com
from then on i searched and searched for all the dnb there was.
Then i only wanted harder n harder
then i heard it all...
now i dont care if it is hard or not (maybe a little
) , just if the tracks got someting others dont have and i like it , im in.
I hate standard reece + pad + amen.
liquid tunes dont deserve the dnb-step imo , let there be an elektro/house/techno drum on it.
producers should be original each time they make a track.
no sample should be re-used (exept for some )
