Hmm, it would have to be hiphop mainly but i play guitar,piano and sing so

I alos like making dubstep, and just my own shit which I flatter myself is quite individual. i just did an ominous remix of one of the movements in Dvorak's New World Conerto which Im pretty happy with, tho cant post for obvious reasons.

Apart from drum & bass, I like to write ambient stuff kind of in the vein of boards of canda, múm & polygon window (aphex twin). To be honest its not really all that much like any of them but its the nearest comparison i can make. I also like to write downtempo breaks stuff which is usually quite dark.... Smile

I find that when im writing drum & bass I end up conforming to traditional structures & sounds...quite often its unintentional & i dont realise when Im writing it but whe I listen back its just sounds a bit unoriginal....

When writing the downtempo & ambient stuff & feel like I have more freedom.. my mind runs more freely, ideas seem to flow better & i usually end with something thats more creative, more original & generally sounds better! Tongue

im also playing a lot of guitar at the moment (still learning really) so im playing aorund with lots of different styles music...rock, metal, funk, jazz which is really good fun.

u raised some really good points there regarding listening back 2,3 hours work only for it to sound a little unoriginal and i find different forms of music i feel less resricted.

its sooooooo important to either like or make yourself like other generes of music.i mean what do you do when you take a break from producing dnb,?, u listen to other music so its all good in the long run
