well it's quite easy

try the simple colors and gradients first, than you actualy see what influences what when listening to an image.

as soon as you understand the trick, it works as easy as any other soundediting thing.

unfortunately you'll have to sample the sounds to be able to play melodies (if you realy want to do this, playing melodies) or just sample the melodies jou just paited, sprayed or drawed.

i was allready waiting a long time to paint my sounds..... a nice counterweight against my other stuff.

yeah tried the coagula thing a while ago, but i find that most sounds sound alike...
or at least you can hear they come out of sound image proggy.. fruity beepmap basically does the same thing i think..
you can make some nice sounds neverthe less

yes it's not new, but for me it is

i'm used to hardware synths & samplers

and the granulator made me comparing it to the V- synth from roland.

if you're clever you can even beat that roland

the coagula indeed is based on sinewave to much (and there is beter than that) but i like the aproach.

imagine you reverse the process

makes me remind of the Aphex tune that has its face in it..
he probably did it this way??

can't remember the tune right now, but there's quite some info on this online, search google about aphex devil face or something...

There is one prog for the Mac in which you can convert scanned pictures into sound, thats the one Aphex used, but it is similar to thisone.
