So, my 9 year old scrren smoked itself up yesterday.
I've got another one now, but I cant seem to get it to work properly, the screen is unsharp, even with contrast almost off.
I tought there's something with drivers and stuff, but even on the site of the manufacturer I cant find the one I need.
It's a CTX 1569S
and dont come up with "buy a new computer", i dont have the fukcing money..
Help??

Normally monitors don't use drivers, graphics cards do.
Try the monitor on another PC and see if it has the same problem.

Then the screen is maybe unsharp because it is worn out...

Normally you can adjust the focus. Not by the user menu, but either using some technician software tool to make the adjustments, or by turning a screw somewhere inside. Hard to tell how to do it exactly if you don't have a service manual or something for that specific monitor.
If you are lucky you may find a little hole somewhere on the backside with "focus" above it and a screw inside of it.
(One of my previous jobs I repaired monitors, but offcourse we had all the tools, parts, and technical information we needed there...)
I just remembered something, but be aware that this may fuck op your monitor worse than it allready is, or even completely. There might be a grey-colored transformer block inside the monitor usually it has some kind of screw to adjust the focus, sometimes 2 to adjust horizontal and vertical focus. The best way to adjust the focus properly, is to put a plain black text on a white background on the screen, then adjust for optimal focus on the entire screen, not just on 1 point because then it could be blurry on the other side of the screen.
I hope this can help you out a bit.
Oowh, a very important warning: A CRT usually has about 20 - 25 KV on it. Whatever you do, dont touch the backside of the CRT, or the "tjoep" that is usually on the topside, or you may end up on the other side of the room.
If you are not sure about which screw to turn, then don't turn any at all, even a tiny twist can fuck up things a lot.
