I use V-Station which does some nice reese basses but I have just downloaded Kontact 2 demo and made a basic reese in V-Station, put it through Kontact and man does it turn a reese in to a phat nasty saw!! I'm gonna save my pennies and buy this one day!

Do you actually like vanguard becaus eI think it sounds to tinny?

I worked a long moment with vanguard, and there are good basses has to make leave this machine, if you are interrested by adapted presets for drum'n bass, send me a mp Wink

(i have made some bubble and crunchy bass presets Pleased

)

actually, i use often Reaktor 5 and Subtractor, wich is a synthetiser from Reason 3.
i think the 3x Osc from Frutiy Loops is very good to, i'have not try the Sytrus.........

i don't know if for you the sound will be decent butif you wan't to hear what i have done with subtractor, hear dis shit:

I did get some cool weird noises by combining three units and using the noise generator on it. but that's about it...

i just got myself edirol hyper canvas an it's probably one of the coolest VSTi's ive seen for now the fucker makes PERFECT gunshots ; machine guns; ethnic percussions ; basses ; pianos an yes i even got a reece out of it Big Grin

I would go for z3ta or albino 3. If u use Reaktor, u might want to try Dragon and Menace ensembles here .

Reason is all you need man. It's the best! I know, I produce my own sounds and put together the ReasonStation Drum N Bass Refill w/ all the sounds you need to get started!!!

Some good basic DnB sounds are available in Linplug's BLUE synth (made in coop with the sounddesigning God Rob Papen).

Don't expect anything shocking or highly original though, but they are good as starting points (make your own clean samples from them and put FX on them to taste).

MASSIVE by NI and FM8 but really.

the thing i found is not the synths, but the effects. can draw the bass out of anything and make it sharp, punch and crunch. PSP MixBass, Boogex, MDX, LFPunch , LFMax. with some additional eq and compression you can make anything rock.
