I just saw that raw art and Dubuffet exhibition at the museum of modern arts here in Lille
amazing stuff, go check it if you have some time
from the early 40s to the mid 80s Dubuffet collected works of various origins (children's drawings, primitive and tribal art, mental institutions' patients and artists' works) under the term 'art brut', which meant it had to get rid of culture, technique and even art itself
you can see some really insane stuff here, the most stunning being done by mental patients, it's amazing how people can be obsessed by little things sometimes
