intro:
0.11: interesting bassline...
0.36: uuiii...drop is arriving, nice
drop: nice amens, but i dont like the bass very much.
0.53: now the bass is very hard...puh
nice breaks and splitted drumloops...also like the effects
but i dont really like the bassline.
vocal is good.
its overall too disharmonic, too hard for my taste.
i like it more rollin
keep it up

Alright dude, nice atmosphere at the begining, hats could maybe be a little quieter. Bass sounds dirty, lovely jubly. Drops a little suddenly. The drums sounds a little mushy and I agree with baz, a little more chopping would sound cool, but what is there sounds good. I also like all the little choppy fills with blasts of noise, works nicely.
The main thing that stands out with this tune is the mix, it sounds a little messy, the drums dont quite come through as clear as they should, and the bass seems to be missing some vital frequencies. A bit more presence would help. The midlle section is nice, and the female vocal is cool too, if a little tacky. Is is a sample from a film? The male screem is really cool too. I like that.
Drops back in pretty well, although pretty much the same as before. All the fills are nice and tight, a little more variation on the drums between them would be nice. Rolls along nicely and feels really powerful, this would definately benefit from a better mix though.
Good one.

great suspense in the intro, Im not sure if you need those hats at all though, theyre just getting in the way
then the drums smash in and it's easily your best track up to date. Im begining to remember why I loved the amen break!
you nailed it with those drop outs with the robot effects. heavy rinse job at hand.. well done mate.
yeah, the mixdown could be a little clearer, prolly because everything above 13Khz is barely audible.
but I think this track doesn't need a sparkly, shiny high-end, in fact the dirtyness suits it. just move the edge to around 17-18Khz and make sure the other sounds don't go over it, you can cut the frequencies easily as the high end is the easiest part of the spectrum to cut
arrangement-wise everything is spot on IMO.. I could probably nitpicky say you can change some bits here and add some variation here etc. but the fact is this track solidly stands on it's own.. keep it up!
9/10

now i deffinitely think youre getting a much clearer idea of how drum'n'bass (especially tech step) should be sequenced...
intro: hats a tad loud...bass is wicked... um my only issue was how you faded the synth before the drop... a lil sudden..not smooth enough...
Drop: sounds wicked...some familiar sounds form the website thats for sure....a lot...
are the vocals from like.. stargate sg1or some shit cause theyre hella familiar...
like many other people on thsi site.. it still sounds like you guys are just loading drums up in the fruity slicers... if thats the case.. cmon guys just stop that...
program your own drums.. you can do way more variations on your drums with your own programing than you can do in the slicer... (and some new variations is exactly what you need for this bad boy)
over all good effort... sounds were heavy...
wasnt "feeling" the subs...i would drop the volume of the drums and the lead basses and bit and boost the subs...
also if you havent done it already... cut the mids of subs, there are always leaking frequencies in sub, and by cutting them you automatically boost the low end of sub, and in a track like this, thers no need for the mid, cause theres no melody...(some will understand what i mean by that)
again good stuff...you've got my head bobbin on this one....

first up... i dont use FL, i use something less powerful.
i did slice the drums, then coded the way i wanted them to go.
not in this version but in another i have layerd new drums over the top
which make it sound more heavy and devestating. and ive been making my OWN drums all of 2005... this is first tune i decided to use loops.
the vocals are from D00M ze movie
yeah with the later version i played with the bass because like u said not enuf sub action... so i resampled the bass samples to give em more low end... i dont have a sub in there, although it might be a very good idea to get more sub, but then shit might get too much.
and yeah i used some samples from here... not "a lot" though
i got samples from everywhere.

bascially you've got some good ideas here, but they need to be developed a bit further...like the drums---maybe adding some change-ups with some other breaks would help the tune have more personality...and same with the bass, cuz it's pretty much just one bass sound and one drum kit the whole time, and that gets tedious pretty quickly...

yeah i got two bass samples n two drum kits... and i know gets abit tedious. i would of liked to have done more edits n shit... but i find i get lazy quikly, i didnt spend much time on this. but ive continued to work on it, with the drums n overall sound... but i havent done many more edits.
@surora: and whats the difference between slicing and chopping?
i just chuck it in my orion pro sampler n press slice and it chops em up into bits and i code them.

at the slicxing thing..
absolutely nothing.. however..
when you take a break in wav label and you manualy chop each sound into one shots, and you program the break from scratch, you have much more control over what your break will sound like...

yeah cbf manually chopping them up, although i could do it to get all the samples. the sampler does the job fairly well. i code the beats.

right...but thats what im saying...
you have to program everything in one window...
where as it shoudl all be programed in sepereate channels...
although that way you can send each sample to a different mastering channel in turn giving you better mixdowns of drums..
