I know this question has been posted before, but I think it might have changed over time, so here's a new poll

Well blatantly its not gonna be as good as v7... technically its still the same sequencer engine but I dont consider 5.5 to be any less 'proper' than 7. Version 7 is built on 5.5... and versions other previous versions 3,4 & 6.
and im not really bothered if it is better coz
a) 5.5 is still extremely powerful
a) it does everything I need
b) I dont have a mac anyway so there's no point in even considering it

the freeze channels save them as 24 bit wavs, unlike the later version of it. that's useful.

From what Ive see, FL 5 has changes quite a lot of things from earlier versions. Im still using FL studio 4 but there are a lot of things in there that I use a lot which dont seem to be in ver 5, either that or theyve changed. I dont really see the need for constant updates and such. Sure newer instruments are cool, but I dont like having to re-adjust the way I use a programme just because of a newer update. I'll only get an update if there is an obvious and drastic change from a previous version (as in reaktor 4 to 5, phew, reaktor core is taking some learning, but boy is it worth it!!!) I think its best to stick with what you know best. Even if youre using Reason 1 or FL 3.5, as long as you dont feel hindered by it then what does it really matter?
