So, I never turn my subwoofer off. My monitors get turned on once a day, in the morning and then off at night. I was wondering if anyone had some input on if I should turn off the sub at night as well...should I even ever turn any of my speakers off? I use them everyday! I have heard that extreme heat changes to often will warp cones and cause damage to the power amps built in. The monitors are active by the way. Any thoughts on treatment like this...? on any sort of gear like this! compressors etc...

oh ya, you'll get pops and clicks all right if you leave them plugged in and running, but not in use all the time.

it's a transformer, but instead of being small speakers, there's huge electromagnets there's just letting heat go through them, it builds up charges, and they just realeses, and make the speakers get that nice crackle, pop, or even humming, if there's other magnetic interface, and you don't have the room proper isolated. that's another kettle of fish.

so ya, un-plug them for the same reason as speakers.

Dunno if it's better for the monitors, but you'll save money by turning them off Wink
