Just got my MOT done.....

Car needs £400 woth of work done

also needs tax and the end of Jan which is £165

Coming to a grand total of £565 Shocked

I have a grand total of £0 in my bank and car is only worth about £600 with tax & MOT. My Mistake


I cant afford to get the work done so soon I wont have a car anymore Cry

im gonna have to try & flog it as is......anyone want a peugeot 306? Tongue

Know your feeling, just got an insurance bill of 850eur, needs a revision, had 900eur emergency repair costs, new tires and maintenance in november and the car is running on his last feet... Need to buy a new-one within 6 months - and that's some expensive shit... Anyway - already saved some for a new car, but it's never nice having to throw out hard-earned cash...

Nothing wrong with getting the license, but if you don't really need it you shouldn't buy a car because it costs loads of money. (that's my opinion anyway)

It's quite handy u dont have to ask around for a ride if u have to dj somewhere outside your neighbourhood...

Also drove +- 200k km, 130 with my current car, the rest spread over a company car (oh I abused that-one... Big Grin ) and my mom's car...

Unlike a lot of people I actually enjoy driving, there are times when it can suck (mainly if you're stuck in a jam) but generally cars give you so much more freedom - the ability to go anywhere you want, whenever you want and take people with you is just amazing Smile

Its just a shame its so damn expensive Tongue

UK is also one of the most pricey countries for petrol which doesn't help - costs me £40+ to fill up Shocked Roll Eyes

Well I like driving too mostly, but yeah - £40 - that's a lot, that's like 60eur +-? Depending on how many liter offcourse, I usually fill up for 40/45eur (40 to 45l of diesel).

yeah thats about 60eur - I think we're on about 85p+ per litre at the mo - its mighty expensive & it still keeps on going up!

The way I do it... got my driverslessons for my 18 birthday so getting the licence didn't cost me anything. I have money for a car if I want one but I don't for the fuel, the insurance and... so I just borrow my moms if I really have to go somewhere, or I take bike or puplic transport
Funny thing a while ago my mom had two cars, one from the company so she putted the insurance on my name, now she needs her own car again but she didn't change the name... -> my 'bonus malus' is going down and hers not Big Grin so when I get a car in a few years from now, insurance is less expensive
