I had thie crazy idea that I'd cut out the waveshape of a brass-section. I wanted have a synthetic sound put produced by a instrument. This to getting a sound that is more musical. The brasstone is not as perfekt as an synt and don't get so perfect in tone/pitch. So I tried to cut out different length of the sample. Then I looped them in the fruity sampler
I got three samples and used two. Those I tuned so that they turned into the same pitch. But I realised that only the C not after wich I had tuned for was in pitch. I couldn't play melodies couse then the sound kept going out of pitch. Can anybody tell me why??

you strech the timbre up and down when yuo sample one sound and it won't sound right for starts. that is, think of an eq ont he instrument, and when you turn it up the eq shifts up also... and vice versa for pitching down, this changest the harmonics and even without the fundemntal tone, the note there palying, if the harmonics don't match to it, it doesn't sound right, becasue tehre generated mathamaticly to the fundemntal harmonic, the pitch.

even without the fundemntal, your brain precives it if allt he harmonics above it are there. this proves they are more important than the pitch.

just use a crappy synth. bitcrush. the brass on them are alwyas funny.

or sample multiple notes from teh brass and sample different ones to get a melody

or get a sampler that not only preserves length of samples, but there timbre as well.

      Vari-Phrase Technology can

VariOS by Roland has the technology to sample timber and pitch.

it's amazing.

i dunno how to help you get it to stay in tune, this is why most samples are never pitched up or down by more than a tone, usually not even taht, unless it's a drum. a full rich sound like brass instruments, oh thoes are just hard to get eh same tibre,

look at the Prohpet 5!
