Ive been tempted, but Ive never used Rebirth. Is it actually that good or are people just looking back at it with bleary eyed fondness? In the same way that people look back at classic games consoles untill they actually play them again and realize how shit there really are compared with todays computers.

Nope, Re-Birth is damn good, assuming you like Tr-808, tr-909 and TB-303s. Add distortion, some LFO-Filtering thingy and a compressor and you're in for quite a few hours of fun.

Re-Birth was kinda the forebear for Reason, it has an emulated tr-808, tr909 and 2x TB-303s (Roland, all of them).

Very simple and very cool. The emulations are high-quality, it's propellerheads after all.

yeah Rebirth is cool Id say, if you want a Redrum-like drum sequencer plus it has two synth generators emulating mentioned Roland synths

simple actions such as changing the samples in it yourself is a pain IMO, as you need to mod it using an external packer first..
