Do any of you here use the playlist in flstudio as a step sequencer?
i have taught myself everything until i got some tips from spinwarp and here, but i try and make a track properly and it zapps my enthusiasm to lay stuff down as the track rolls.
guess you need to have a clearer view of what you want to achieve before you start producing.
often i start up a basic intro then play around with things till i hear a lil hook or glimmer of a basis of a track..
as i'm going to try and start producing properly are there any major do's and don'ts about using the playlists and patterns properly.
musch respect if you could help me out, jus got broadband agian after a year and i relieved to know i still have the ability to roll out dnb, just doin it proper, that mys problem.

I don't use FL but have seen this playlist thing, because of it I'm not ever going to use it.
every major sequencer out there uses the slots on the left side to represent different instruments and you normally sequence each instrument in it's own slot. but FL uses different kind of approach - patterns. pattern sequencing is a thing of the past, mostly used by (now totally obsolete) trackers. you have a slot for each different pattern, which in turn holds sequencing for all instruments. and since I'm used to the way "normal" sequencers work I find it just awkward, and a main reason for me to never touch FL
and yeah, there was talk of this earlier, this is now in the software-> Fruity Loops sub-forum so you might want to check it out
P.S.: offcourse, everything I said is IMO, noone get offended now, don't think I'm slagging FL either

i'm Rick James, Bitch.
(no offence)
oh hey, i could answer. the playlist, i assume the bottem of the screen's Multi-Track, tihng there in the song arrangement page.
i'd say i only use that for long sounds, suggested for vocals, or ambients. nice for streching to tempos, in a small way.
overall, not unless i have too. There need's to be a tie between them, like in Logic, or even Live.

I use the step sequencer for basic drum layering.... everythin else goes in the Piano roll...
And of course, I layer vocals in the Playlist.
