Nice choppin effect,..how'd you pull that one off,...at the drop i'd make thing's roll more,..start and stop's on the drum's are fine to bring back later on but would work better to have a big rollin part at the drop,.me opinion anyway,..intro sound's solid,..nice work man,..tune sound's fresh,.oh and lovin the hip hop beat>00:53
.....cheers...
freaky intro, love it. Drums come in nicely, lovely transitions. Your melodies are sehr kool.
1:55 excellent melody there, maybe that one could play more often.
2:09 silent part feels a bit out of place, great build-up from there though.
All in all a nice one, but it needs something to spice it up, some sort of climax or better melodies or better drums. All elements are coold in themselves but the song lacks something to be really there.
yeah this is cool glitchy idmish stuff. drums are nice. this sorta stuff isnt really my thing... but this is interesting to listen to. produce fairly nicely i think. i like all the elements. good shit.
If i was in charge of this track here's what id do:
Id slow down the tempo some and add lots of strings n pads,
then use less of the little sound sounds at once and just make it way more melodic and harmonious - orchistra style... if i could...
Either that or set the pitch down and go half time for a dark sci-fi ambient funk.
Im the kinda guy who focuses on melodies and atmospheres so i think if i did try to rate this track a number it would be biast.
R u planning on takeing these resources / ideas and building some of them into an entirely new song? I would if i was you! Id slow it down and make a sound track maybe...
How big would the zipped flp be?

Easy dude, really like the intro, very cool indead. Builds up really nicely, there are some really nice sounds in here. You should defenately do more of this stuff. Drops in really nicely aswell. I think the Amen works in places but not in others. I reakon you should save it for a few times, for extra impact. I think there are some places which are a little plain, some nice ambience would help out but I really like this tune, your best one so far by miles. I'm only listening on little speakers so I cant give any feedback on the mix but it seems good, but the ideas and sounds in this carry it easily so the mix isnt that important. My only critism is that the half time section might sound better with some tweeky electronic beats, and that the Amen isnt the best beat for the track, at the end of every 4 bars for a fill I reacon it would sound great, but I dont think it works that well with the rest of the tune. Some more elctronic beats would work better. If this is your first go at IDM (I cant stand that acronym!), then you should stick with it, this is a cool track,
Keep on this one, I think it could be amazing, just make sure it goes somewhere, at the moment it sounds as though its gonna use the same ideas for most of the track, it should evolve and gradually change to something else as the track progresses, butif you can make something this good so far, I dont think you'd have any problem taking this further into a full on tweak fest. Cant wait to hear the finished version. Nice one!
PS.. In terms of melody, I dont think its really that kind of track, some sort of melodic hook, other than the one already there, might work, but I think you should just play around with this one and see where it takes you. Oh, and IDM (Shudder... I hate that term, suggests that all other dance music is stupid) is fucking great to produce, no rigid structures, it gives you a chance to use really random sounds, and it allows you to think as a composer rather than a producer. What kinda stuff are you it to, in terms of stuff other than DnB?

I'm into the *term you hate*, a bit of hiphop, jazz, blues, melodical stuff, like contemporary classics
,
emo and epic electronical (which sometimes can be taken as a dnb substyle imo), and mostly everything
with more or less complex rhythms.

lol @ the techy intro. aphex fan??
luv the hip hop breakdown. the drop is a bit like squarepushers mental moments. some nice changes in hear.maybe you need a few more subtle moments in order to emphasise the more hectic parts. kinda reminded me of some old skool. a little like bong ra and dj scud too.
cool glitchy intro, very crisp and well defined sounds
at 1:00 very nice chill groove
again very crisp pre-drop sweep, absoultely love it! drops, or is it a fake drop. a bit of weird structure, not saying it's not working, just something not unusual. oh I see you said it's IDM
not too keen on the use of the amen break at all. I think this would be way better if you progrmmed all from scratch, and I mean even maybe synthesized drums. with all the bleeps and screeches you have it's horrifying how the amen sounds way too standard.
I feel the theme in this, though it felt a bit unfinished, might be the lenght of the tune.
This track definately reminds me of a certain artist.. The amens, chopped up sounds? Ai its squarepusher. Definaetly feeling the vibe hear dude.
Background lacks a little IMO, sound ambience, strings or pads, or just minor synths like in the track squarepusher - port rhombus would bring out the track nicely.
needs some minor tweekig but Im definately feeling this
a few of the sounds seam a little to loud.
the way it rolls into the hip-hop is smooth,
the drop is cool....like the way it drops away and comes in with the reverse loop.
like the contrast between the heavy amen and the nice like synthy pads.
i can't really be contructive about the engineering as the peices of shit with which i'm listening to are cheaper the a bang-kok lady-boy in pvc.
and i also can't say too much bout the style either as this sort of stuff stuff rarely enters my ears.
but i do like it, i wish i could just be a little more inventive with my edits. and i don't have the patcience (bad spelling)
once i have a bassic 4 bar drum loop i normally just roll with that
i kinda agree with monkey....may have some slightly less choppy bit between the maddness. kinda like the calm before the storms
sorry if this is of little or no use to you as i am now rambling
nice intro, nice drumz but they should have been more complex for idm i think
an actually that kinda all i have to say
the track just needs to get insaner an you got the stuff right there
sorry for this fucked up short review
