Im only using version 4 so it might not be the same, but if you click on the green light next to the channel name, it lights up to show which channel youve selected. If you double click it should select all chanels. Then you press alt+c to copy, select a new pattern, and press alt+V to paste

Woops, some legacy function still burned into my mind. Just click one of the channel lights twice (once if it is allready selected) and then hit ctrl-c or copy in the edit menu.

To copy all :
Just double-click on the led/green light to highlight all samples, then CTRL + C, go the other pattern and then, CTRL + V.

To copy some:
same procedure + right click to unselect some samples.

You can't record your mic input in fl, you can 'record' notes and knob tweaking, that kinds of stuff.

To record, pick up Audacity (free and pretty good), or Sound Forge (not free but pro).

One update: You CAN record audio in FL, but only in ASIO mode, through the mixer.

Open up the tutorials (File/Open/Projects) and pick any one to get started. There are also pre-programmed songs and patterns. Find the style you like, pick a project and play around with the patterns (remix it!), but also pay attention to what is going on. Most important, don't rush yourself, take time to learn it, and go at your own pace.

Good Luck..........
