ok I got a track started but it's kinda unorganized in the PL. I need to know how to cut a section out and paste it in another area..like patterns 123 at 56 sec cut and pasted to 2 min mark...i've been trying to do this but it just pastes back to where it was to begin with

Take pen or brush tool (doesn't matter), uze Control+Left Mouse to select the area, then drag
the selected patterns to the desired location with Shift+Left Mouse. I guess that solves it.
