Alesis recently released 2 new midi controllers including the "XYZ control dome" known from their "air FX" units. They come in a 25key and a 49key version.
The photon X25
The photon X49

The "air controller" and all the flashy lights make it look very blingbling, but I think it is also useable for both production as live performance. Because next to the 25 or 49 keys they also have 10 assignable knobs, some buttons, and 2 modulation wheels. Perhaps the most interesting part is that is also has 1 balanced output and 1 unbalanced input for audio, so next to midi control you also add a balanced output to your PC.

edit: forgot to mention the most important part: the prices:
the photonX 25 goes for less than 290€,
the photonX 49 for less than 490€.

read some user reviews...works great, but if you are using cubase LE be prepared to have trouble reseting any controls assigned. so set carefully

U.S. price $200

well , this looks very nice (especially the integrated air fx and endless rotary knobs).
If i was in the market 4 an new midicontroller this would probably be it ...depends on the quality of the keys.

but i'd defo want that air fx thingie (seen a live gig from techno masters'' the advent''back in the day wich used this air fx and it was madness Huh )

A live performance by the advent is always madness, with or without the air FX Big Grin
