Please check out my new track 'Planet of thee Oceans (dnb.be:ill-tech)' and post your comments here!!!

I've been working on creating my own sample pack..
Most of these sounds are from there...
I'd say 98%...
Just been creating samples on Screenblast.
And ofcourse gathering sound sources...initial waves n such...

I finally had time to mess around and put some sounds together....

Roughly bout eight hours of session time...

FL Studio 4
& Sound Forge

180bpm/29- patterns/50 tracks
Sounds from Ill-Technix sample pack.

Fruity speech synthesizer will killl me someday.

Too simple. Don't dig the beat at all. Or is it the intro? No it's not I guess. 2:55 - liking the beats
much more now, but very light anyhow. Very repetitive, and not much of a flow here. The only
nice things are the bass sounds.

Srry man didn't like the track. Frown Keep going tho!

Right now I'm in the process of making up a good sig.

That was cool the speaking .be stuff. I like the the intro and atmosphere. Aw nice with that part when the drums come in sounds cool. The pads are nice. I'm surpised no else has done that before saying .be I mean . Very nice inro. Drums are cool I could have done with a bit of layering but that's just me. Man this track was just begging for a ripping bassline. It's nice ambient like but you should thrash that fucker up a little more. Some cool bass sounds commin in. Bring them more to the front. Cool stuff keep up the work

Thanks for your reviews Fellahs,
@DyzeaZe "very repetitive" I'm sorry but i don't know what that meansConfused if any thing it doesn't follow a constant loop except for some atmos'), I think your looking for something more aggresive....This tune isn't about Driving aggresive force.....it's a showcase of my new sounds....I just slapped a bunch of my new Ill:Technix sample pack samples together....There will be more testosterone filled tunes to come....
This one is more personal I guess....It's about the beauty of
drum n bass, the smooth flowing soothing soundscapes, in touch with it's dnb roots, smooth with the roughness baby!
To me it's all TECHNO!!!!! don't care what genre they call it, I grew up on techno, and I produce techno....dnb is techno, and it's also the next rock n roll baby! ah yeah!
Boooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo!

Listen to the DnB roots....you'll understand my work better...
You need to know your old school dnb and new school, seek your roots
Peeps like lemon d., kemal, decoder, trace, johnny L, alex reece, dr. s gachet,Krome & Time, Total Science, C4C, )E|3(, Ink, Dilinja,Tech Itch, Blame, Kosheen, Concord Dawn, LTJ Bukem, Metalheadz, TOV, Renegade Hardware, future engineers, Dj Addiction, Peshay, Paradox, John B., Dj Rap, Ray Keith, Twisted Individual, Black Sun Empire,Konflict, J-majik, Ez Rollers, sonic and silver, tango and ratty, Dj Krust, Shy FX, Dj Hype,Trace, Ed Rush and Optical, and Dom and Roland...etc..

Drum n Bass
Originally an offshoot of the United Kingdom breakbeat hardcore and rave scene, it came into existence when djs and producers mixed reggae basslines with sped-up hip hop breakbeats. Pioneers such as Fabio, Grooverider, Andy C, Roni Size, DJ SS, Brockie, Mickey Finn, Kenny Ken, Goldie, Velocity and other DJs quickly became the stars of drum and bass, then still called jungle........

Intelligent drum and bass (IDB) (or Intelligent jungle) is the widespread yet almost universally disliked term for the subgenre of jungle/drum and bass emphasising influences from lounge jazz and ambient music. The music typically has a very floaty quality, with washes of synthesised pads, and deep but soft subbass. The Rhodes piano is heavily featured, along with samples of other jazz fusion instruments like guitar, flute and vocals. Although the mellow and tranquil atmospheres contrast with the darkness and aggression found in much dancefloor drum and bass, the intelligent style is still generally produced with the DJ and dancefloor in mind, and not simply "chill-out" material.

Variously also known as atmospheric drum and bass, or "the Good Looking sound", after the record label synonymous with the style, intelligent is nevertheless the most widespread term. LTJ Bukem, boss of Good Looking and arguably the single most influential figure behind the style, is especially noted for disliking the term, owing to the implication that other forms of drum and bass are not intelligent.

Any who, I will be writing a remix for this soon....more aggresive....
I got stuck on pretty jungle/dnb this time.....
I Love DnB !!!!

Bigup thanks for your time!!!!
Keep dem Plates Burnin'!

Not so bad, there are some good ideas but I think there are a lack of cohesion. I explain :
- I like the intro, the atmosphere is good
- the break in (at 2:35) must be more punchy, it is too flat
- after there a lot of 'hole' between the sounds, some are too short, the overall atmosphere is descending after your drums came, and after it is like you slide the overall volume with a +3dB boost...curious...
- the drum kit you are using is a little bit boring, try to add more variation on it and try with other kick & snare
- the transition between the drum patterns and in general are quite strange also.

So to summarize there are some good elements and sounds but it is like you made a brainstorming. Work more on the structure and boost your drum and your bass.
Producing is always a big source of frustration...

Sound clutters......A simple yet effective tune...

^yup, id thought so to; its my favorite of your works so far.

i am surprized at how much stuff you put on each step sequencer,
also you dont color coat your patterns?...scarry work...

You know what i would have liked to see?
little drum aulterations of the main patterns for more detail,
then also a main synth or piano or guitar or somthing to play periodic solos through the song.

i give this song a 8.5/10
(lo @ u psycing out dyZeAzE with the speech synth AGAIN Big Grin Big Grin )
very good variety of sounds and mood focus.
liked the drums to.

If you want, you can mail me the flp.
Id like to add a bit more things to this song for you if i could,
just to bring it up from 8.5 to 9.5 or somthin,
but its your choice.

what samples did you use from this site?
would you want to send me a zipped flp with the samples and everything? thanx again for uploading this, have a great day!
[edit, next day]=================
Did you REALY make those synth samples???
Some of your bass leads had me amazed.
id though to get that kind of sound youd need to use bit cruncher, then render as a wave file, then reload and use multiple talk box vsts at once on it... how da heck man?
what is your secoret?

and each time at the end of the song when that 1 guy sais "jesus christe" i always burst out laughing! HAH! well man, i listened to it more then once now and i love the atmos!!!

am already making plans for a remix of this if youll let me Big Grin
also did you hear "Beyond the system" yet? its my latest track, core trance ambient.

I hate that fucking speech synthesizer. Why? The pad part is pretty nice. The beats are nice, a little tacky, just doesnt roll along all that well. I like the mix of rough and smooth. works qite well. Some of the samples dont really fit though. Theres a female vocal in particular that just sounds a bit out of place. The tune doesnt really have any particular vibe. It does sound like a collection of sounds rather than an actual track. Dont get me wrong. There are some good sounds but It doesnt ever mesh into something coherent. I think that is the danger of trying to do the rough and smooth thing. Theres a chance that it'll end up as neither. For my tastes it doesnt evolve enough. There is no drastic changes, once you've heard the main section it doesnt really deviate from it. I think the overal production is good, a little cluttered in some places but good overal. I think you should drop the speech synth, its pretty shit sounding, and the whole "DnB.be exclusive" thing does portray a sence of arrogance, which Im sure isnt the case, but none the less is a bit annoying. I think some sort of change would be good. The initial idea is sound, but doesnt really sound like its going any where. As I said before, no evolution. The other thing I dont like is the Vox sample at the end, "Gentlemen, I give you the future". Not to be harsh, but its far from ground breaking, and is full of old school influences. In terms of a tune, I dont really rate this that much, but In terms of sounds, there are some really nice ones in there. Some of the bass sounds are cool, and I like the pads aswell. But ultimately, with any tune made with sample packs, even if they're your own, its about choice of sounds and creative usage of the sounds. I cant help but feel that some of the samples are put in simply for the case of using them, and that some sounds just dont seem to fit with the tune as a whole.

That's why it's a showcase of the sample pack I made...
You probobly missed that.....

This is groundbreaking as far as how I've developed...

I'm truely sorry that you get a sense of pride, when all it is-is a business sense....

So in short, yes this is a showcase of the ill technix sample pack.
Something put together quite quickly....

Cheers For The Listen, Mate

Not at all. I fully appreciate the fact that you "showcasing" a sample pack. But to be perfectly honest. Id much rather hear a track than a mish-mash of sounds. Why not actually use your sample set to make a track with, I expect it would reflect more favourably on the samples themselves and your overall skills as a producer. Im sorry but I wouldn't pay for, or download a sample set by an artist who didnt seem to be able to make a good tune. As for the Business sense remark, if thats refering to the vocal DnB.be exclusive thing. All that seems to show is a lack of trust toward anyone else on this site. I wouldn't really want anyone here to play one of my tune in a set, nothing personal, but I write tunes for myself, but Im sure that if somebody did want to play anything Id done, they'd ask me first. And it also seems as though you expect people to want to rip of your tunes or claim them as there own, which does portray a sence of arrogance to me, and the irony is that the track is supposedly "showcasing" a sample pack in the first place. Im sorry if this seems like an attack. Its not meant to I assure you. However I do feel that it is pretty pointless for anyone to reveiw your tunes beacuse you just try to shoot down any construtive critism that people offer. as I said before. There are some nice sounds in here but it doesnt work as a tune.

i see what you tried to do.......there are some probs though.1st dont ever use the speech synth;it automatically made me cringe in pain.2nd there are some quantization problems with the drums through out the track(minor stuff).the bass could use a underlying simsynth for thickness with out over fillin the track.the drums seem to over lay each other, but dont mesh together quite right at the end.try to use the presets on the compressor as they work very well in fl studio.maybe a lil bit of blood drive(not to much)will also help them mesh together.keep it up bro your doing fine just dont get mad or cocky as there is always gonna be that 1 person waitin to shoot you down.
