Time to make this off!ce-ial!!!
3 years ago an old skool technics with a little wheel for a pitch, a borrowed mixer, and an totally fucked up gemini xl500 fell into the hands of the mighty Max and darkstyle O-man. The artists formerly know as Max & oman, but who are now Imvamex and Shangri, and will eventually change their name into a symbol, started mix inna studentkot in Leuven and very soon Introduced a new head (mine )into their world . Off!ce was born
one year went by as these lads locked themselves in a room with an ever growing pile of rikkids, and the time for the first office event came knocking on our door. You're a freak, still a freak, la Belgique libre, la musique libre, Bass attack were all leuven based parties in small venues.
As shangri started travelling the world (i think they call this college winknudge.gif ), the the wizards of off!ce got in touch with the portugal based BADMOOD crew (sun and bass 2004) and were invited along with Hydra's dancefloor thrasher SAIKO in a club in the suburbs of Lisbon.
Next up was Amsterdam...in one word wicked!!! A tag team was formed.
Time passed, parties came and went, and music evolved. Which brings us to the present day... icon_twisted.gif TIME TO PITCH IT UP A NOTCH icon_twisted.gif
The off!ce selectah's present to you the following dj's for their birthday bash:
LIMEWAX (tech itch, freak)
bio:Limewax doesn't like to be thought of as a child prodigy, but he is, despite his protests, the young Einstein of the Anger / Tech Freak posse. At only 17, he is already producing tracks on par with the big guns, and holding his own in the sickness department!
Born in 1988 (!) he was weaned on hardcore vodka and babushka¹s in Russia and the Ukraine until the tender age of 11, where he then moved to the smoker¹s paradise that is Holland. A classically trained pianist, he began his decent into the griminess of drum and bass through listening to radio shows and breakbeat and ambient. Soon after his 11th birthday, he received some old equipment and began to mess about with atmospherics, and wrote a few symphonies (yes, symphonies - we're talking a young Mozart here!) and soon moved from old beaten up Roland's to getting his head around reason at age 15. From 15 to now has been all hard work, perspiration and ahelluva lot of inspiration!
Limewax's tunes are reminiscent of the dark sci fi landscapes of Technical Itch, the driving dark funk force of Dylan, like a hybrid love child - he is easily one of the most exciting artists to emerge from Europe this year, and without a doubt will remain so for the years ahead! With the soon to be released E.P. on Tech Itch Recordings, as well as tracks such as, The Lawra, Eye's of Evil (a personal fave with the gabba-esque, no-holds-barred attack in the middle of the tune), as well as the 'Slave to Life' and 'Life of Sin' remixes, not to mention all the collaborations with partner in slime SPL (!!)...Limewax may be young in age, but will rock the dance floor like a long established pro!! Mark my words, it is only the beginning...so watch this space!!!

Already noted in my agenda, Limewax isn't to be missed, too bad I couldn't care less the rest of the lineup. Isn't that just a strange lineup, smashing hard Limewax and a bunch of jump up DJs and the like? Or am I mistaken?

Dear mister alien,
I'm afraid you are WRong,
NSEKT is a portugese dj of the badmood crewl. He played with us when Off!ce played in Lisbon last year. He is the most skilled dj of Badmood and will bring a mix of dark, rumbling 'heavy break' drum and bass with some acid rave lines.
DCONVICT is one of Belgiums best drum and bass Dj's. We especially selected him for his non jump-up new junglist style. Also he is coorganizer of the Redroom events and is a resident on hydra events.
SAIKO is a resident on Off!ce events, and I don't know if you have ever been to one of our parties in the past; but these events are strickly non Jump-up. Saiko always brings new melodies with heavy breaks. Total Harmony! He also is one of the best dj's in Belgium. He also joined us on teh trip to portugal.
ESKAY&SALLOW are young, but they know their spot in the line-up. They are always overenthousiastic and have good tactics to blow up the crowd. These guys maybe mix a jump-up record once in a while in Gent, but it's clear that this is not the aim of the event.
The Off!ce crew is proud to present the event (Imvamex, Nitrous, and Myself). But maybe we should have added some info on ourselves.
Off!ce mixes: JUNGLE, RAGGAJUNGLE, dark and techy DRUMNBASS, mashup and jungle breakcore. Off!ce was founded for the survival and promotion of these genres. Ask arround, off!ce brings you the darkest shit on the globe and might have some producing surprise on 23DECEMBER
Hope you are convinced. Saying that Off!ce mixes only Jump-up, is like spitting us in the face. I don't have Jump records and don't plan on buying any. You can expect some scratching do.
BE there to witness the BASH, It's gonna echo true your brain for a long time.
Greetz

I really think he knows what he's saying - and I certainly wouldn't use the term "one of Belgiums best drum and bass Dj's" for DConvict - no offence, but it kinda undermines your credibility for me
Saw him play multiple times and could never convince me of being a very good dj, nor did he play anything that would remotely fit with Limewax's style... If ppl who like him in general (it seems there are) use him as reference, they're in for a big surprise imho

We know that Limewax and Dconvict don't play the same style
Still, I like to hear a flow in the line-up during the whole night, from style to style, from dj to dj, from easy liquidy to harsh hard techy...

And some people don't like that
Offcourse it's all a matter of personal taste, but chances are great that KoFFiE and me are going to be bored as fuck at the beginning...

2: Nope, it's just honest. I know my taste is quite narrow, but I can't help that.
3. Not to me. Give me Limewax, Evol Intent, Dylan and the likes all night long and I'll have the best time of my life!

I agree, there are plenty of good line-ups. But any organizer in a tiny town as Leuven should consider all different aspects to a party.
We have a budget, and finding sponsors is not very easy. We are growing in our events and this Limewax line-up is certainly the best we have presented so far. In the future, we will bring more interesting events.
Try to enjoy this one, after all, you don't know NSEKT and OFFICE, so maybe you should just listen before you jump to any conclusions. We present LIMEWAX as a thanks to all the people that supported and enjoyed our events in the past. I hope you will do too.

I for one completely join Surya on this. I mean I'll never drive for 2 hours and pay anything for any of these other djs on that lineup. And he's been pretty polite too, I could say that I don't give a rat's arse about them...
On the other hand, I'll take a day off and drive for as long as it takes to see big name producers like the ones he mentionned.
Don't get me wrong I don't diss upcoming or even established local djs here, it's just that people will come and pay to see the big name on the flyer, not the locals.

The point being that if they play those same style, they'll like it. If they play a different style, some of them could be quite dissapointed with them.
To me it's a bit like combining a smash DJ and lets say an RMB DJ (I'm not comparing these other DJ's to RMB DJ's, OK
). Some people will come for the RMB, some for the DnB, and most of them will not like the other style. This is a bit how this lineup looks to me. People who like Limewax and the likes mostly can't get enough of this shit, they don't want veriety...
Just my 2c
But then again, I'm planning on coming anyway

I'm not so sure I'll be able to make it this time, although I'd really like to see Limewax break my neck again

i don't come to a party to see big names
i want good mixsets, and i'm sure all of these djs will bring a nice set,
although i will prefer dj style of some djs to the other
i don't get why people always wanna see famous producers, even if
their mixes are boring (dillinja, tech itch...)
but that's my opinion about parties, even the smallest party (150
persons) can be super if the set is great,
i'm not into the massa-events thing with the "big names"
that's why i'm looking forward the most do D-Convict's set cause
he plays a lot of style and mixes very good

I don't wanna always see big names, I wanna hear DJ's that play my style
I know very little local DJ's that smash it as hard as Limewax and the likes... And no, Tech Itch isn't boring. And yes, Dillinja is boring as fuck

well we don't all go out for the same reasons, init?
I'm a dj, I've been spinning for a while. I buy the tunes I like, I play out sometimes, and I want to listen to a style I like when I'm out too. I don't fall for dj tricks, technically speaking there is a minimum required skills level you must master when you play out. I just care for the tune selection. And in that perspective producers djing have a huge advantage over djs : they play their own, unreleased tunes and the ones of their friends.
And that's a pretty nice tunage guarantee.
