rip some audio off DVD's for some cool effects and vocals. horror movies are good
also try some free vsts if you want synths.. you could try searching on file sharing progs for samples and stuff

i got some oooooooold dvd's you can find for 2 dollers CND, that have some amazing samples, adn it's before they used a lot fo background music to tensein things up. dvd quality!

and to dholix, here you can find some sci-fi sounds, they re for free, but let your mind go over a lot of sounds and see possibilities, that's the best tip i can give you, see posibilities

hey, i want to make a wav or an mp3 file from the tripodcall.wma, does anyone know how to do this? (i know this ain't the right place to ask, but it's about the same sound)

that version is quite low quality.. best to sample the dvd!
you need some audio software that can read wma formate and save it as wav like cooledit.. but there are heaps
you can prob dl a free converter.. google?

Do a google search for "wma to mp3 converter" it worked for me
I've got my tune with it almost ready...
