I tried to use it once time, a very old ver tho. Sonar XL or smth, can't even remember. Didn't like it.
Can't say much about it, but it sure was unfriendly to me.
__ Right now I'm in the process of making up a good sig.

Used to play with a try-out version
found it much more user friendly (and a nicer look as well) then cubase, but then again that's just personal. To me it had an easier workflow. You need an adapter to play VST though. And their forum on DXi plugin development seems dead last time I checked (about a year ago).
switched to linux btw.

I saw the same flyer I think & it does look very good.
Its really the only other sequencer thats kind caught my eye & made me wanna switch. I'd have to go for the producer version though coz the studio version lacks quite a few of the features that make it so attractive.
But then I think do I really wanna learn another sequencer?
Plug-ins look nice though

Ok but although everybody's free to write VST's, the vst-hosting software from Steinberg is AFAIK still not open sourced. this means that the hosting method from Cakewalk will have differences in working with vst-plugins (I know that it sends midi in a different way). Normally a good vst-dev tests his plugin on different programs (cubase, nuendo, sonar, fruity, ...) but it would be wise to check if the vst's you're using are supported by Sonar as well before you make the switch.

reviewers usually get paid advertisment by the same product. you'll never see the add on the same page, but it'll be there somehwere.
