Please check out my new track 'Chase Thru The City (like, totally teaser dude!)' and post your comments here!!!
this is a lil funky and funny clip i made, one of the examples of testing myself with my new setup that i thought was worth continuing into a new song. it's supposed to be like a car chase after a bank robbery, sounds like something from one of those awful "Blaxploitation" films from the '80's. haha but i was diggin it.
really short clip, but it will be finished, if you guys deem it worthy. its sorta experimental i guess.
Police Radio Vocals by Myself
Gearz:
Fruity Loops Version Five (don't hate)
Acid 5 rewired as sequencer
crappy mic, used on purpose for extra distortion
Junglist
FM7
field-ambience generator vsti from tweakbench-free, very cool!
thanx for the love guys.

i heard it and thought it was a very good idea.
all my free suggestions to be taken lightly:
45seconds in, the bass synth that came in was quite smooth.
to make it more pronounced maybe play a low pitched lead at the same time or add distortion or even post bit crunching i dunno,
what ever works best for you.
perhaps add that improvement to the sound later in the song
for more variety?
the snare, maybe use a reverb effect on the same sample
but in a seporate sampler. then play the reverb snare periodicly
once per 2 bars or so? (just an idea)
next, periodic but not constant toms playing at the same time as the kick, or maybe some sort of percussive sub.
just to bring out the first step in a 2step beat kind of idea,
again just an idea.
ok, the effects at the start i though were great,
but the judgist guy was heard at the same time as the police syran?
i couldnt realy here wut the jugle dude was saying so maybe play the dude before the police thing, instead of both at once if you want more clerity.
yes please finish this song i will be a fan of it.
hey! heres another idea,
before the synths and stuff come in,
perhaps play a second beat harmonious to the one that is already
playing but make it distorted and quiet and more rolling without
1 step not having a beat or percussion not being hit.
it is hard for me to just say all of this instead of practice it on a song.
the funky guitar stabs, experiment with delay on those and see what happens? would it sound better at any time?
"thanx for the love guys"
not a problem, im ur fellow artist.
send me a PM about why you dont use FL5 as a sequencer.
i wanna know wut makes acid 5 your preferance.

thanks...im thinking about the bass.
@ hiddenidentity: heavy, heavy review man. i wasn't really going for clarity on the vocals, it was all about atmosphere. but i'm trying to see how to integrate em into the beat later on, you'll be able to hear em then. cuz i think the main beat section is too empty right now, it all sounds lonely, after what i think is a really thick atmosphere in the intro.
might use a clap instead of a snare with reverb.
and i've got more funky guitar stabs to throw in and play with ready.
thanks for the reviews and your time, guys.

Very good intro, nice beats, tight one. Don't like the bassline at all tho, I'd change it if I were you. Looking forward to see the full.

as said before sounds like another version of california schemin...
sick track btw if anyone doesnt know what im talking about on the new violence LP...
anway..
vox are cool...
fx are dope...
the drums sound just fine less involved... good for dj mixing...
i agree with equiped and say the bass should be grimey...and less bubbly almost...but then again its kind of the idea no??
cool so far...like the clip...mix sounds fine... no comments there..
__ Rinse it OUT!!!!

yeah well innit but the bass is lame
the intro the drums the sampkles the way it sounds (except for the bass) is all very good but the bass melody and sound are very lame and let the great intro down heavily
wat i reckon ya wanna do is get a simple 808 kick and distort it then lay it over the top of the undistorted 808 so you have a full distorted sound then run with it like they would in a car chase... then old skool batman tv show theme song maybe with some cuts to another virus'sy sound bass for an accent
all good tho keep up the good work

Man, this is incredible. You really captured that early 80's feel in a good way.The track doesn't really have a car chase feel though, but it sounds cool like this, so I guess it doesn't need one.
Great work!
