I assume that its the same as it is in logic 5.5...

Load up an Audio Instrument track > click & hold on the first box below I/O & a menu appears > select stereo or mono > select VST & you should see them listed.

You should be able to use VSTs in Logic 7. As long as theyre in the plugins sub folder there shouldnt ge a problem. I cant imagine that they wouldn't include something like VST support.

I heard that since Apple bought Logic, they stopped making it compatible with VSTs as some kind of marketing ploy. Or maybe it was because they pissed of Steinberg who created VSTs, I dunno, but I'm pretty sure that in the most recent Logics you have to use AU, unless theres some program or other that translates.

the logic vsts are strickly logic software and can ONLY be used within it... its solely macs software and will not e distributed unless you purchas logic...

by the way the intruments in logic also use state ofthe art virtual synthesis and provide methods inwhich NO OTHER vsts can duplicate... its a completely unique software, and the sounds are remarkable...

its why 70%(general assumption figure) of producers world wide use it... not jsut dnb... but rock, jazz, pop, hip hop, etc...

VST support was dropped in version 5.3 in favour for their higher quality Audio Unit-format. It still supports the Protools TDM-plugin format though and all the major plugins have been either ported to AU, TDM or both.

If you rely on VST-plugins that have not been ported to these formats you'll have to stick to versions prior to 5.3, or find a workaround by exporting the audio tracks in other software that does support VST.

okay i'll use the RTDM, thanks a bunch. and yea, logics plugnins do rock, but for getting a bit different sounds you need to stay away from the default plugin's i use as a rule fo thumb.

expcept for scuplture, even though that's quite distincitve, even thoughs it's a beautiful Physical Modelling synth.

some of the effect plugings are too digital, and for example, the likes of PSP tools like Saturator and Compressor, help give different sounds, evne though logic has a saturator i tihnk. ... i dunno, there's just a very simple contorl, with not much organic elements int he logic plugin. if i were too do a symphony it would rock, clean and no dirt, but for trying to get a real gritty sound, it's more restricted to the instrument than the effects.

basicly, logic sucks when yuo have to use effects. you cannot change the order of the signal flow, and the basic effects, except for the amp which just is abare save, are too clean.

maybe hard to explain cuz the synth's stand for themself. but you guys are dnb fiends, so you can feel where i am coming from.

Reaktor5 helps.
