I'm just playing about with this remix pack form AcidPlanet and was wondering if there is a way I can get the vocals to stay at the same spped because I have set the track tempo to 170 and vocals are about the same speed so they sound to fast :/.

You use FruityLoops, try the Fruity Slicer - you can set the vocals bpm on it, and it will automatically arrange them so that u can use them there

..or you can use time-stretch, don't know about FL but ACID 5 is good for that since you can easily set the bpm to match the track, SOUND FORGE also does it but you cant set bpm since it's only a wave editor

Well, that is not TIME STRECH actually, that is something like ReCycle, to cut the recognisable separate pieces of an audio file, and layer them how you like it, at what speed you want it.
If you mean on the stretcher in the sample's sub-window, that sux.

Insert Fruity Slicer plugin.
Right click on an existing channel -> Insert channel -> Fruity Slicer
Click the second button (which says Open & Slice up sample...). Select one sample (you need to slice, like vocal or sumthing. Be warned that it works only with wavs).
When it loads the sample, press the third button (Slice up sample...) and select the preciseness the slicer should use for recognising separate elements. If it is for vocals and simple drum loops, use medium. If you cut VERY complex drum loop, use sharp. If you wanna cut long synth lines, use dull.
Then select the 4th button (Dump beat to piano roll...) and select what you fancy (I guess normal you fancy here).
If you think that the slicer missed the sample's bpm (which happens often with voice samples) you can set it by yourself. Just move the mouse over the BPM number, click and drag up or down untill you set the desired value. You can set the lenght of the sample (how many beats it is).
The pitch you can set with the first slider that goes up and down (Pitch shift...).. etc...
Try it
hope I helped

Theres a couple things that you can do. The first would be to cut the vocals into smaller sections, say 4-8 bars long, then open these in a sampler, then in the small window with 2 dashes in it labled fit, set this to 32 or 64, or however many steps the sample should play over, this will keep it in time but will also affect the pitch. Another thing you can do is to use the slicer as described else where. The problem with this, is that if you slowing something down you'll get chunks of silence between each slice, and it can take fucking ages to get absolutly right. The final option is to use the granulizer channel. You load up the sample as normal. Then you use the fit window like with the normal sampler, This will stretch/compress the sample to the right length but will keep the pitch the same. This will however leave artifacts in the sample, or a weird, comb filter like overtone, so try fiddling with the settings to get rid of this. I think the granulizer has to be my favourite since it allows more tweeking and gnarled up posibilities, but if your looking for a more natural sound, then maybe using the slicer would work best.
