Adion, a belgian software developer, has released the new version 0.70 of its DJ program 'djDecks' today. It is still a beta version atm but it is in full development and future version will have support for VST plugins. A free 35 minute demo is available, and it only costs 26€ for a full registered copy.
The software runs on W2000 or XP and requires a DirectSound or ASIO compatible soundcard.
Features:
- 2 or 3 deck mixing
- It supports mp3, wma, ogg, flac and wav files as well as audio CDs
- 4 different pitch ranges from +/- 8% to +/- 100%
- possibility to change the tempo without changing the pitch
- crossfader with presets
- low latency (2-10ms depending on the soundcard drivers)
- BPM detection (with batch analyzer to analyze your complete music library)
- flexible pre-listening through left/right splitter, extra surround outputs or a second soundcard
- possibility to output each deck through seperate outputs so you can use an external mixer
- 3-band EQ with adjustable frequencies
- several effects such as sampler, looper, echo, flanger, compressor, gapper
- support for external controllers such as the Hercules DJ console, Final Scratch, VirtualDJ, SSL and MsPinky
- it can record your mixes in WAV or MP3 format

I have installed a previous version, and it is definately a worthy competitor for stuff like traktor or bpm studio. And the external control support is offcourse very nice.
Anyone know if it does also support midi commands as input?

Well, the good thing with Virtual Dj (Atomix) is that you can set up your web-cam to look at your old turntable, and you can do skratches and set bpm with that !!!
That would be nice if I had a web-cam... planning to buy one...
