I don't agree. I always do a limiter coz the result always sounds better than when I use a compressor. Less squashed, more boost. |
all depends on the sounds of the track inside...if you got a very punchy set of drums compression over top works wonders for the4 drums and bass... but if you do a tech step track (such as most of yours) compression coudl do some damage..

Maybe so, but in that case I would put a compressor on those channels, but still a limiter on the master chanel. That will still give the same benefit as you describe for the punchy drums, but without some of the artifacts a compressor brings along.
