I wouldn't use giga unless you're willing to run it on a seperate pc cause it's kinda power hungry and you're audio interface has to have gsif drivers for good performance Wink

good softsamplers are :steinberg Hallion, kontakt, kompakt (streamlined version of kontakt, Intakt (loopsampler on the kontakt engine) and vsampler

motu was planning to release a softsampler called mach5 but duno if it's already released, seems to become a bit of vaporware

btw i always tought that wavelab was an audio editor or mastering tool :p

Indeed, but you can use it to record and edit samples, so in that point of view it's a sampler too Tongue but not the kind we are talking about

Get a good sound card!!! That's more important than the software you use. After extensive testing I got an RME Digi96/8 PAD-BC a couple of weeks back. It costs 250 euro but it sounds friggin good Big Grin

I haven't worked with many soft samplers yet but I like the EXS24 sampler that comes with Logic for sure!
