Please check out my new track 'Microcephalic-Pigme ' and post your comments here!!!

This one is a tune that I did a while ago but I wasnt happy with. So I decided to Remix it which is done mostly in Reaktor 5.
Its a little more standard DnB but with loads of found sounds and tweaks.
Its only a rough mixdown and the levels could probably do with a fiddle but it'll give you a the idea at least.

Great ambience, sounds are incredible, I don't like the starting drums, feel they crash with everything else. The drums who come in later on the other hand is killing. LOVE all that glitching, cutting edits, reminds me a bit of squarepusher/venetian snares YEAH!

I'd just skip the first part with the drums, go straight to the naked ambience, use that as an intro and the rest is AWESOME

outro is also really cool, twisted and trippy.

Great work! Finish it and post it later, can't wait to hear it.

Cheers man, The drums at the begining are a bit odd, I thought Id try something a bit new, sometimes it works and sometimes it doesnt.
I went on a full on sampling mission with this one. The eagle eyed.... ear'd (whatever) listener might notice breaking glass, lots of metal things being hit, gongs, clothes zippers, vacuum cleaners, and clicky noises like the safety tops on pill botles.
Thanks for picking up on the squarepusher thing. Ive been listening to his stuff for ages and was trying to do a similar thing but with a more modern DnB style as opposed to the jungle style adopted by the usual drillnbass scene.
Thanks for the reveiw, it just gets a little disheartening when a load of people listen to a tune but no-one takes the time to post a reply, You cant help but feel like youve done something really wrong!
As for the intro drums, I might try putting a HP filter on them and spin them around in a reverb, just to keep the rythmic element there.
Thanks for the suggestions.

Wow cheers guys.
After listening to this a couple more times, I think that the drums could be a little louder and one or two bass notes could be a little quieter. Still, Im glad you liked it as I was trying to keep from goimg to Breakcore on this one.
Next time however.......

yeah electronic style. I dig the intro so far. pitty of the weak snare coming in. ad some more variations to beats and work with some fills every 4th, 8th or 16th. waw nice change after the break amazing. nice work there. i'm dazzled. I 'dd love to hear a complete mastered sesion of this one cause i think the overal sound s a bit messy look for more and other frequencies to put the sounds on.

Cheers man.
The idea with the drums at the intro was to give something fairly easy to mix in. Ive occasionaly been told that a rythmic elemant at the begining is important. I personally couldnt care less, as Ive got Reaktor patches which do the mixing/beat matching for me. (Its not cheeting because it took a fucking age to program!) but as this was an attempt to make a slightly more dancefloor tune I thought a drum intro wouldnt be to bad.
I agree with the comments about the sound quality. This is only a quick mixdown straight out of FL. At some point I'll go through the labourious task of bouncing individual files into Logic and mixing in there, but I prefer to leave it a while so as to gain a little perspective on the way I want it to sound. I always find it easier to actually listen to a tune when Im away from the computer.
However I actually kinda like the roughness of the track. It suits the mood. Maybe a bit of Eq ing on the drums and ambience but Im gonna be careful not to get too carried away.
Thanks for the reveiw though. I'll be sure to post a finished version at some point.

hmm. straight into this one i see...

crunchy drums well complimented by trippy sounds weaving around , the 2- step break sounds very weak imo, even for an intro dude...
great touches with the amen break, jsu loud enough to hear, and it works that way.imo.

eq is full of treble bro...
strechin tihs one out than ey,, makin us wait...lol..

drop is sort've unexpected maybe a fill of kick drums leading up to it

oh no... this is getting very messy....
got an aphex twin feel to it, a little bit experimental compared to the stomper i thought would unveil before me...

u have skills here.. maybe channel efforts into the more simple aspects of the track, percussion, drums , and bass.

the tweaking and switches save this track from being way too self indulgent.

try to keep more focused on a format, unless this was jus u havin some fun with ur sounds

intro sounds verry interesting , cool panning around and nice experimental drums n sounds.
big up for your style techdiff , you have an original style that many others don't have.
fuck i love the distorted synth; n the vocal ...wow.
Amazing drop , but i guess you compressed to much , cause the firefight ist that clear (but it's nice cutted).
Big Grin Knob-tweak-Massive !!
Ambi at its best.
2ndrop is great too , Bigup for the equing wich was difficult i guess.
Not that great is the hi-hi-hi-ha-ha-ha voice over n over again , i think the outro could be better
but still , this track got loads of potential .
respect.

Thanks for the review on the funky chicken - ya that was just a funny little track I was horsing around with and decided to post - but stopped short of chopping up the bass and synths and consolidating the structure of the first half.

This track - again has amazing clarity in the intro and great panning of sounds from right to left. Still ussure how you do many of those square pusher type edits (my favorite at 2:40!!!!! and 2:59, 3:07, 3:10 etc. etc. amazing!!) and the pitch mashing was cool too. Nice vocal sample - sits well above the sounds. The amen sample seems a bit squashed (in the stereo image) although edited really, really well. There are many level spikes through the track and the lower mid crunches are maxing out the mix quite often. But still a true listening pleasure (those edits... again at 4:30 on - amazing - how the hell??) Love this style of track by you - a nice blend of squarepusher edited madness and more conventional dnb. Nice work - tidy up the sound quality and some of the interference and this track will be truely top notch.

HI
I became interested in your stuff after hearing (Cylocibe Cubensis)
This track has the same feel and I think you alt to continue with this stile and add to it.
I think you may be interested in a little thing I do occasionally when things get stirred up into a frenzy, as happens with your stuff.
I put the entire mix though a noise gate and trigger it in short bursts a bit like a machine gun but as you can imagine instead of a bang every 32 or 64 you get complete silence for a spit second, I tell you it really gets attention.
If I was aloud to upload my stuff, I could give you a rendition.
If you have the imagination please stick with this stile and keep building on it.

Intro: dig the wild slow beats, love the low Bass synth and with the voclas it's very deep!

DROP: The drop smashed well!

Drums: You did a good job on the drums! Bigup I like the pitch shifts and the flanges!

Outro
: very twisted and nerve racking, I like it!

The drum chopping makes this track dope! Great job on the variation, love those chops! 10/10 Z

Cheers for all the feedback guys. This one was definately a consious
effort to make something a little more DnB as a lot of the stuff Ive done recently has been more in the experimental vein,(hence me not posting anything for a while)

Nosrac, If there is anything in particular your curious about, shoot me a PM and Ill see if I can explain what I did, Cheers for the positive feedback, Your one of my favourite producers on here so its really appreciated.

Greyone, Thanks a lot dude, That really is quite flatering, If you can think of any labels that youd recomend (as a lot of them are very specific about what theyll promote) PLEASE let me know as Im in the process of gathering lots of addresses to send stuff to.

Lightnigflash, Thanks very much aswell, The style is something thats been growing for a while, Im always trying to make something thats uncomfortable and tense when listened to. I think that music is a great way of conveying emotions yet there are so many that are ignored, my new track (not posted yet) is trying to capture the adrenilin fulled hatred that makes you see red. I like the idea of the gating, Ill give that a try some time, Ive tried a similar thing using a gate to control the Dry/Wet mix on effects so that when something goes over a certain volume the whole mix is sent through an effect like a reverb or something.
How come you arent allowd to post tracks?

Yes I seam to like high energy frantic frenzied stuff but I have not heard anything that really hits the mark in the drum/bass line
I have had trouble trying to get what I want my self but your stuff is getting close.
It has dawned on me since posting.
That you can be even more adventurous if your sequencer can program the master faders.
As you can see I am a newbe.
I have attempted to get uploading status but nothing at all has happened.
