Please check out my new track 'Depth Threats' and post your comments here!!!

This track heads into chillout territory, though it isn't as blatantly ambient as "Gull Liver's Travels" was. It is, however, packing a cheeky title. :-)

Interesting intro, very earie like the water sample... creates a nice atmosphere.

Synth is nice, sounds play well off each other, change up of synth works well at drop. Reminds me of a classical style sound with the chords or sound used.

Would like to hear something else in the lead to mix it up a little, just my taste.

Overall sounds are ballanced well, drums, synth, etc.

Like the delay on the 2nd drop, although would look for a little harder bass line to kick in, really shove it my face!

Overall nice track.

Thanks for your input, Funke1.

I did try another lead which would have appeared around the 3:20 mark...something like an arp. It didn't quite fit like how I would have liked it to, so I went back to lead #1 and then had that call-and-response session. Still, I'm a bit minimal when it comes to the number of "starring elements" in my tracks.

Over and out. Bigup

hehe, this song is funny, funny melodies I like them. In my opinion you should experiment with other sounds, the usual drumnbass lead synths doesn't really suit these kinds of melodies. Wobbly bass is good though.
Drums are cool enough, old school and hard.

Big Up!

Hey - nice huge intro - great space with the water sounds, the well reverbed synths. Sounds top notch! The bass sounds seem to blare my speakers a bit. Catchy synth line - uplifting and memorable without sounding like a downloaded fl studio piano roll (ex. mario brothers remix number 99). Really like the off beat variations in it at about 3:25. The beat is very well acompanied by the ghosts and the clicks with the room reverb on them that delay off at 4:06. Drop out and fade back in of the synths was really nice - again can see your experience at work. Enjoyable track - not my favorite style but would have its time and place for sure and subtle production tricks are damn good.

Thanks for the listen and comments, Nosrac.

It's funny that you mention Mario Brothers; I've so far had two reviewers state that this song reminded them of music from Mega Man. I'll admit to playing waaaayyyyy too much of those games (particularly 2, 3, 5 and 6), but that's not where the melodies came from. Big Grin

Out like that. Pleased

The intro puts the listener into a lair, a wet lair, probly on another planet telling by the sounds. A mid evil band passes by and some strings begin to come in like some helping spirit to release you. The listener is taken from the lair to the artists fun place, were their are obviously games and competitions.
This track carries a common DnB drum set up and this was done clean by the artist. Cant say though that the keyboard would get attention- needs more arpigiation to speed it up to the future. The bass is set up good but i dont care for its sound to much. It doesnt rip and scream as id want it, it blobs and wobs all around. Trying another sample wouldnt hurt for the bass.
The break was great with perfected timing. OVerall track sounds clean.
Good use of the choir. but that wobin bass is pissin me off inside my head.
Snaps is daring but the artist pulls it off with good rhythm.
Ah snap in the end the artist puts the listener back into the wet lair, probly were the woblin blob will consume me AAAAHHHH.

I like the melody. It works well with the dark ambiance. It's cool the way you make the break swell up in such a way. Wow that's pretty interesting. Yeah man this shit pretty cool. Fuck yeah it's totally mega man!!! I would have liked to hear a big distorted bass in there some where. It's nice to hear something like this it was fun to listen to.

Deep man, deep!!!
I well like the water sample!!! Nature linked to technicality!!! Big Grin
The synths you use are beautiful (i know its a non-D+B word but i could not describe it any other way!! Wink )
I like the "WUP WUP" bass man, subtle but with a feeling an movement.
The synths is a bit raw sounding for my taste, i prefer a more edgy gritty sound but it sounds clean (just not my taste)!!!
I would layer up a bit more beat, not much just a bit more perc and stuff to create progression an some variety in the groove.
Also eq the snare up more about 600 hz-800hz to give it more snap.
Overall it is a well good concept an the production sounds clean just a bit minimal for my tastes.
CONCEPT- 4/5
MIXDOWN- 4/5
DANCEABILITY- 3.75/5

WRITING / ARRANGEMENT : 8/10
Like the water intro, don't care for the synth though, the synth is a downer.... The structure is not bad... Like where the drumz are with just the bass alone. Try to use the same bass and record 20 variations with different FX/dist/reverb/Chorus and pick the best 8 or 10 of the 20... Just an idea how to get the best of your sounds...

PRODUCTION QUALITY : 6/10
Drumz need layers and compresssion to punch through the bass. I think were the track is lacking the most is in the "Choice of sounds"
Maybe add a high layer to the bass with a touch of distortion. Maybe us the same sound for the high layer and EQ it to fit then add the distortion and reverb to that high layer.

ENJOYMENT : 6/10
Like the bass but the synth realy ruin the track for me. It's just an oppinon, I am sure some will like the synth work...

OVERALL RATING : 6/10
