ez ppl, after dj'ing 4 a fair while ive decided its time to start producing aswell, been playing around 4 a while with samples n that n soon realized that producing is alot harder than than i first thought!! (without sounding like a retard making out i thought it was piss easy anyway
)
anyway, im struggling with my main drum loop, just cant seem to get it soundin right, please check the mp3 below n giv a man some advice, i think it soundz ok but it aint rite!!

ok...your snare is to loud & is kinda overpowering everything else. you need to boost the volume of your shakers coz they dont really sound loud enough in the mix. your kick drum is a bit weak try layering it with other kicks to give it a fuller phatter sound.
Also your snare doesnt sound right, its too....noisy. maybe try some other snare sounds or again layer it with others (yours could probably do with a snare with a nice sharp attack & quick decay to give it some more snap).
Add some nice sparkly hats to the mix to fill out the high end of the spectrum. Those shakers are good to help the beat roll but you could do with hats in there as well.
Thats probably a good starting point - but you could also look to add ride cymbals and ghost snare to increase the complexity of the loop.
