Not sure if it has to be in hardware or in the gear section, since it is actually both.
I was surfin around the www for some info on mixers when I came across the new NUO 4, next to a very fine mixer, it can also be used as a midi controller. In the standard software traktor dj studio and ableton live are allready suppurted as midi hosts, but you can program it for anything you want. Since I need a new mixer and would probably by a midicontroller with some knobs within time, this could probably be a good solution. I'm still reading some more about it now. If you are interested, check this linky.
I guess this can be a very interesting product for dj's who produce and producers who dj.

..ok so this works. Hi there , new here, lookie here, I'm in the process of getting gear and have heard great things about Ecler4 and 5. They often say the midi is better than Xone92's midi. And the effect on the Ecler 5 blow away pioneer.
And that's just it. I'm hesitating between Xone62 and 92. Ecler was an option but I would have 2 agree it misses the X-factor. Besides I'm not 2 keen on midi (yet). Xone92 or Xone62 ? Swoh meh thah whay!

[offtopic] On the xone 62 or 92 part, I think they are both very good. It is more a matter of how many features u need and how much cash you want to spend on them. If you don't need the dual filter, midi capability, adjustable CF curve, etc. buying the Xone 62 will save you quiet some bucks you can invest in other gear. Personally I think 500€ extra for only features (there are not more channels or inputs) is too much money. [/offtopic]
Does anyone have an idea if the midi features of the nuo4 could actually be usefull for producing (especially the downmixing & eq'in)? That is the main reason I would be willing to spend something more on this one.

That would be perfect for using with Tractor, or something similar.
@djfreemc, You should be able to use the midi control for whatever you wanted to. As long as its a standard midi channel you will be able to assign any knob in you sequencer to it. Allthough you might be better off getting a proper midi controller. You can get something like the evolution uc33e which has more midi assignable knobs, a large bank memory with easy switching, its a lot cheeper than spending the extra just for midi control., and it'll work with just about any software.
