After that the comp crashes. ROM is used for storing the BIOS (acually it's been EPROM for a few years now, but it's still ROM ). ROM stands for Read Only Memory EPROM stands for Eresable Programmable ROM (which is a contradiction in terminis, but who cares) RAM stands for Random Acces Memory.
