i cant find one decent sample of those, or it's a horn from a boat, or it's surrounded by football noises.

10 bucks for a small one at the store, 40 for the ECHOMASTER 3000 that has a horn longer than my cock (like 10 inches)

for our hiphopbeats we record sund ourselves all the time
ur last beat had pieces of melody of disney's 'pluto de olympische atleet' lol
We just put ur mic to the television played the movie and recorded the melody
chopped it up and made a beat from it. Being busy with music that way gives me a lot of satisfaction
Also noises of wooden balks falling on top of eachother, the overdriven sound f a dor being clsed. glass breaking, a spine cracking by recording the sound of a chipspack being crumpled up.
I find real-recorded noises make tracks have a natiral sense and better flow.

You must certainly do so, and also the cymbals. A good snare sounds so much better when you hear it from the real thing than a sample does. Also, when you are recording, hit the drums in several ways and record all of them: hard kick, medium kick, soft kick, etc. And offcourse... Post the samplepack here afterwards!

Its such a laugh sampling stuff. I did one tune with a sample of me sharpening a carving knife, and also stabbing a joint of beef with it. Was a dark sorta tune so.....
Another one thats quite nice is dropping coins into a bowl of lots of coins.
I also did a tune once made entirely from samples of farts, quite childish I know but it sounded so cool, a fart through a granulizer sounds so brutal!

last friday i went to planckendael with school, we were close to the cage of the lions when they suddenly started roaring to each other..
Unfortunatly, from the moment I stood there, ready to record, they shut up

Damn Lions, Give em a slap.
I just got myself a really nice digital dictophone. Records really good quality, been going round recording samples of loads of things. I'd recomend it to anyone.
I took some samples of train lines for tune Im working on ATM, sounds cool.

I have made decent snare sounds in REason using the white noice option on the Subtractor. You could even use a sample of white noise and cut the Release on the ADSR

I once recorded a clap of thunder with a minidisc player using the headphones as a mic. I made a whole kit out of that.
I also recorded the fireworks on millenium night. I took the bang from exactly midnight and made a kit from that too.
