Please check out my new track 'happiness starts here' and post your comments here!!!

it's commercial, based on bass, primitive drums and melodic tones.
produced with xp30, jp8000, soundforge and acid

This track has been deleted. Reason: Only DnB allowed, this tune was not DnB

hmm xplosion? better turn down my speakers. jp8000! lol! lets see..

this is very erm, friendly. in fact too friendly.. pretty much video game 8-bit sound, was it intended? ah yes I see there you said it's "commercial". not too fond of it anyway...

odd drop at 00:20 - offbeat. in fact your beats kinda drag.. like midi triggered loops with insane latency, cut them properly in soundforge before placing in acid

basses need heavy eqing, in fact ditch the sound and do it an octave down IMO

ok this is becoming silly.. wtf is with that squeaker? made me laugh my ass out. sounds like a cat thats being molested by a chicken.

in the end everything is too casio-ish if you get me. structure is there, works well for an 80s video game. If tahts what you wanted - you got it. I started wondering what kind of DnB youre into and didnt think of a reference to this.

ok, dont take this review like some absolute truth.. Im giving a view of my own, in the end you should do what you think is best..

I see now this is your first submitted track. not that bad for start. keep trying!

erm yeah, cynik made a point. this really wasn't what i was expecting to hear. this is like some serious SNES soundtrack material or somethin. Need I really say more? Good attempt but maybe ditch the game console feel, please.

does sound like it should be in a happy land rpg computer game where ur running around on some stupid mission looking for the secret hidden dimond used to free the princess in the forbidden caves of mystery.

lol
good ideas and arrangment, nice use of effects n stuff.
production wise its fairly tight.
commerically cheesy sounds, yes. but thats personal tastes.
it all fits well together.
little bit of eq here n there, but its not bad.
good for what it is.

wow 70 's style. oh man this is way too lo-fi. melodys are cliché and bad sounding. drums too minimalistic
a real heavy nintendo feel to it.
laughed from time to time so the happiness is present but its just too obvious!!
Noooooo goood
sorry mate

2/10

think the theme alrite its got a nice atmosphere to it. but its startin to sound like somthin off a 90's computer game. the bass line melody reminds me of another tune i cant think what tho. not my style so i dnt reali wanna comment to much

but stil sounds like a game...

mm, the bass needs EQ'ing and some compression. Nah, the drums are way too simple, do some more variations and make it sound more full !
What's with the sounds ? They sound like 'old'. You should replay it with other sounds and make them sound more Hi-fi !
Ok, you make people laugh that's for sure, that voice keeps playing in my head...

Some people think this is from the 70's, others think the 80's, actually it's the 90's :-). The truth is, this is a very old song that xplosion made when they were young. Yeah, it's not the real drum n bass, I know, but that was not the intention, it's intended to fit in an album full of dance and rap.

I really enjoy the bad comments (although I'am crying now :crySmile

dont cry, go to the home page instead and reread about what kind of reviews you can expect here.. its the way things work around here.. I betcha there were lots of even harsher reviews before these so chill

ok, you might have said that it was an ancient tune, that way people would know at least what theyre dealing with.

now post the latest track youre working on even if its unfinished Bigup

Look, dishonesty won't get you very far, give us something wee can help you improve on, because you are acting like we can't help you...
Cynic is right, if every one on this site posted all their old projects and could not stomach feedback and did not strive to improve their current and share ideas about others tracks this site would be lame. I post at a few forums and this is by far the best, because people give a fuck about helping each other by leaving honest reviews. Don't hang your head or cry, you got to be kidding, you have been blessed by BE.Noo Z

Euhm, I guess you guys take me too seriously... No what I meant with my previuous post is that for me, the reviews are very helpfull, that's why I tried to summarize what you, producers told me to change. Before this I didn't even realize that it sounded old, but when it was told me, yeah, then I realized it must has a "90s" sound because of the use of the jp8000 and some older sounds in the xp30...

What I tried to say with the fact that we made it "when we were young" is that I now , thanks to you guys, realize that that must be the reason why it sounds old and that I should use other sounds and edit them more.

Actually, my previous post was meant funny, it's not meant ironic in any way ! I have never had so much usefull respons ssince ages, so no, of course I don't cry Big Grin , I am happy with those usefull tips and it makes me wanna produce more darker drum n bass.It also gives me the courage to improve the soounds !

So, please don't take my posts so damn serious, but remember that I enjoy reading those great and helpfull visions of you guys !

I think it is really far too SNES /japanese rpg soundtrack style. I think that that mellow change about 3 min into it is like the best intro to a hard dnb song, but it didn't drop after that it went back to the casio thing. Also it seemed to me like that squeeking thing could have been taken out and it would have been a bit nicer.
