Please check out my new track 'On The Loose Again (the definition of 'teaser preview')' and post your comments here!!!
really minimal (to me) preview. but this proves that i can make some hard stuff just as good as anyone else.
really just thrown together tho, or the intro is. to be honest, it all loops a lot. i'm waiting till after my pc upgrade to get into this one really seriously, but i still wanted some more feedback. style is metalheadz-ish, with lots of classic breaks used, vocal one shots and juno hoovers (dont listen, munki c!)
Equipment:
FL 5
Acid 4
Sound Forge
Fruity TS404
The usual Fruity FX
Orchestral soundfont
lots of breaks that aren't the amen, but still awesome!
and a couple various samples.
Most of the lil vocals are by me. but obviously not the female-moaning one.
hope you enjoy.

Sick, drum's man! Bongo break at>00:53 for example is phat ass! String's that start at intro sound a wee bit loud in the mix. Nice one on samplin your own vocal's. Synth's sound great! Preview pack's a punch man!

tru, they were really just thrown in there to make a decent intro, they'll be fit in, overlapped with a lot of fx, etc.

i won't say that this sounds bad at all. it just seems that i have heard this tune way too many times. all the breaks are tight. the programing is too. the samples have been used so much. they are boring for me to hear unless they get twisted some how. the building of the tune is excellent. just wish that samples were original/reprocessed somehow. the vocals are super cool. makes me want to do more self samples. 8/10

yeah, this is a pretty tuff preview, but me thinks it could use some more whoop to it. Sounds a tad weak. I know you said you were waiting for the upgrade to dig into this joint more, but sounds like it's got some serious potential. Wish I could say more but 1:37 ain't much to go by for a detailed analysis. Not bad tho for a start, now work that shit and make it aggressive.

@shortwave: thanks for criticizing! didnt wanna get all positive reviews on this. i know what you mean, the tune sounds really generic, indistinguishable from a lot of other stuff...i just wanted to do some hard shit for once cuz maybe with all the jazzy tunes i release on this site they thought i can't do em (check those for originality). didnt matter to me if it was boring or not. probly it was the ravesounds and the rewind that sounded stale, they've been in dnb since the beginning.
there'll be nu-style bass hits, fx, all kinds of shit in the final, hopefully injecting some personal style into it. hope you'll check it when it comes out
@ optikassassin, my man that keeps it crashin
: i've got some compression leveling problems, it's mainly that i havent compressed or leveled yet
so thats whats making it sound weak. i'm gonna make everything stick together more tight, blend and stuff, when i got the power for it.
thanks everyone for the reviews, the love, etc.
i'll get my ass on this tune and have it done at least before half of you die.
damn, i use that laughing smiley too much.

alrite mate how do, erm not a fan of pelpe using mainly samples, tis cheating. Basically this track is a sample mashup yeah. breaks sound nice, (by the way ive got amen breaks pm me if u want em#) synth sound is dull no flow to it, best part is the drum apart from that start again i say. dave

well i don't like using a lot of samples either...i usually don't
but to do tracks like this, you really have to use a lot of samples, i mean i cant make convincing analog hoovers that good and believe me i try, and that rewind sample is a classic.
i programmed all of the breaks by myself, the amen and the really heavy "hammer" break is layered, so those weren't all samples...
the orchestra loop is a multisample soundfont so i created and sequenced the melody.
and the sub is pure synthesized...
sorry, i just don't want to be called a cheater...
but thanks for the review.

Not a big fan of the intro string/synth , sounds like too digital.
Drums R nice but pumpt them volume up and the high end.
rave sound sounds good to me.
You could put some more nasty basses in it , some grimey ones.
And some more FX work .
Anyways itz a nice preview DArkZ.

haha dude the intro string is an acoustic multisample, a real orchestra....
and the hoover sample is analog, from a juno.
anyway that whole intro part is thrown in, its crap right now.
i kno there's not enough hi end, and im workin on the bass hits and fx.
its obvious that you know what's missing, thanks for the review!
