This is a remix of a copyrighted track, so we'll have to delete it, I'm afraid.

what the fuck is with those vocals 00:21-00:42 ? did you use some other or deformed the original? death metal / drumnbass crossover kinda sounded

anyway nice mashing of orig. samples indeed. not sure aphrodite would like it tho. lol who gives a fuck, right?

bassline is cool, I liked it. but eugh, it has some super-loud hits so you might think of softening that up. that stuff almost allways happens when using a sample for a bassline that has a high scale of notes. try changing the velocity on those hits. I would have liked if it went highpassed here and there.. but its your track, not mine.

oh no here come those fucked up vox again. kinda annoying since I couldnt possibly even guess what is it saying. what I would do is add an original same sample over and put a phaser or some other fx-fuck-up-device to give them more clarity and that horrorific "two voices saying the same" efect ..

nice use of the original break. the drums alltogether have some wierd velocity changes, I dont mean the in/out fades but the whole chunks - some are louder that the other, maybe that was the idea.. they could be beefened more and I know you hate it but you have to EQ them.. be strong and may the schwartz be with ya....

greyone-style indeed.. I hated these samples when I got them. you used them well and I give ya credits for that.

First and for all , thanx for checking my track out cynik

Indeed the vocal sample at 0:21 is the same sample. I fucked it up with ... euhm... ah with the Fruity Granuliser.
I wanted to sound realy fucked up. Big Grin
Don't you like fucked up vocals ? Frown

No i don't care if Mr. Aphro likes it , but i think he could use some greyone style in his face.

Yeah i notice it too , now i now that when the tone of a bass / reece gets higer , the volume get louder too. I'm still learning new things , thanx for remarking.

yeh i didn't do any highpass things to the bass. Maybe i should.

drums do have some velocity changes thats because i filterd some and then cranked up the volume (but i didn't checked if they were the same volume)

What do you mean with:
quote:
they could be beefened more .

you mean more 3000Hz boost ?

I EQ the best i could , but i still have some serious trouble with it and i'd like to do it better . Guess i'll start a decent EQ threat with questions about it.

Happy greyone style i guess.

thanx

lol I listened to death metal, was a lead ehm, singer (growler explains it better) in a couple of bands before I discoverd dnb.. I like them still in a way.. but now Im really picky about how it has to be done, yours need more work IMO

it can actually cound cool with those pitched up hits being louder. just not too loud so IMO work on the volume just a little bit

I didnt mean a 3000Hz boost, I never did that anyway. in those frequencies there should be maybe only some highhat hits, not even sure if they would fit in.

EQ each of the hits separately, I mean, the kick, the snare and hats. Im speaking generaly and not concerning your track. a lot can be done with just this: play your drumloop dry. see what of the drums hit which frequency with frequency analyzer, use an eq to boost that and a couple of hz left and right, that makes the sound "beefier" its really a bit more full in the mix, begins to sound fatter.. play with the eq, see and hear how it changes your sound

BUT

what you MUST DO is pay attention on the other sounds and their vital frequencies. if you max out one freq and in the track somewhere some other sound hits that frequency you maybe get over-saturation which leads to unwanted distortion. eq-ing is bassically setting your sound to sit nicely in the mix and dont interfere with any other

sorry not 3000Hz but from 800 -1000Hz adds beef.

do you mean like (for example) :

kick --> his highest point reaches 300Hz --> Boost around 300Hz and boost 250 & 350 a bit ?

I allways eq them serparately but i do it on 'feeling' / 'hearing' , but most problems are --> bass + basskick + sub that hit on the same time (which one gets the highest boost ? wich one should i EQ first ? ...)

Do you know a good EQ learning site ?

I'm only dnb producer for a half year now...

muad'dib gave some useful links to eq technique sites. somewhere in the production forum, do a search. I had a glance.. but the most I have learned is by myself. note that I am waaaay a beginner too. I dont know how much I dont know...

you need some good speakers. mine are commercial for listening but not for producing, tho they have a fair accuracy result in higher frequencies. bass is totally a different story - innacurate. once in awhile I listen to my stuff on a pretty wide range of music systems, also my friend whos dj-ing calls me when hes at a club earlier than the gig so I get to blast the fuck out with my tunes... dude, first off, soundclick sucks man, they put this pop-up mp3 player bullshit in there so now i have no way of adjusting my eq. i used to stream the tracks through winamp so i could play on the treble and bass, but now it's fucked. oh well. to the tune, you trashed this shit for sure tho man, especially dem vocals, shit was like some cannibal corpse or some shit lol. ok seriously tho, this sounds pretty solid, but i'd lose them bassline synths. i dunno why but they get kinda annoying. i'd say run ya own bassline and slap a catchy riff on it. thats what i would maybe try and do. i downloaded the sample pack but haven't really looked through them all yet, but are you using strictly all samples in the pack? they sound like the ones i've heard. i just think for the way you approached this, maybe using your own sounds and just running off the vocals samples alone would be better sounding. or maybe even cut up the breaks and throw in some others you made as well, but i'm not liking the basslines and the riffs. it's just me tho. aside from my opinions tho, everything sounds aight for the most part. maybe just bringing up the volume on them breaks more, kinda along the lines of what cynik was gettin' at. descent take on it overall tho. Bigup

yeah strictly from the sample pack.
Breakz were cutted , but not really the way i like , cause his jump-up drums are kinda empty you kknow.
Listen to the originals n you'll mark the difference.

Maybe it's just me but i like horror/monster-like-vocals. What should i do with distorted vocals to get them right for others ? (Horns n Halos from Evol intent has a monster vocal too wich i liked) ... dunno what i should do to prevent it in the future ...

Thanx to check it out.
