I got this bass line using Albino that I'm quite happy with for example. At the end of every four bars I wanna record me turning up the cutoff button on the VST to give the thing some variation. How is this possible in Cubase?
I saw my mate do it like this: he clicked on the R and W buttons above the VST window, then recorded his riff using a keyboard and then, before pressing stop, recorded some messing around with the VST paparametres, and low and behold, the buttons started to repeat the sequences he did. However in CUbase SX, the R and W buttons aren't in the same place. Morover, even when I turn on what I take to be the same buttons
it doesnt work for me.
ANother related problem. Say if you've keyed in your riff, pressed stop, and want to come back to it later (without recording it again) and record messing with the VST parametres. Is it possible? When I tried to this, I pressed record over the riff, but would only hear the first onte, as the mnachine assumed I wanted to rewrite the tune, not record changes in cuttoff attack etc.
I hope this message is sufficiently intelligible for someone to hazard a guess at an answer. I think that this ability is very important for livening up tunes, and if I could figure it out, it would be really good for my stuff, which can be a little monotonous. Obviously I realise there are ways around the problem (like making a sperate midi track) but these are all a bit long, and not as good in any case. SO yeah, if you can see your way to helping me here, would be much appreiated.

If you want to record the keybord just press the main record button up the top!
the W button should work for other parameters if the VST is set up for automation... is it?
If its not you can allways just record the audio and use that! Just select an audio channel mute all except the bass and hit record again.
Hope this helps

yeh man its easy.....on the midi channel that albino is on ...just open up albino....and theres a r and w in the top left corner.....just click w.....hit play and then use your relevant controller for the cut off......
or....double click on the actual block of midi data....go to the bottom left side....and select modulation in the controller lane......then you can just draw in the automation......
but either way make sure your midi controller is set on the same midi channel as albino.!!!!

yeah the midi contorller is set right.
the thing is though, there is no R and W button where you say on my version (ive seen it on later versions myslef), HOwever there is a button where you control the midi etc, so i assume its the same thing.
thing is though, i ve been pressing both R and W, wheras you say W, so i'll try just pressing that and getting
Reckon: "If you want to record the keybord just press the main record button up the top!"
come on, be serious

Cubase SX I think. ANyway doesnt matter, I took your advice of just pressing the W and it worked. The other thing that might have been stopping me was I had the ready to record button pressed down. WHen I took that off it worked. Really excited at the prospect actually, thanks a lot man
