well I guess your outta luck, that reggaeton wannabe dancehall is all based on the bam bam riddim from jamaica, if you get the original atleast use the bam bam riddim to cancel out the drums.

did you INVERT the sample.
INVERT THE PHASE of the sample, that's how it cancles it.
if you don't it only doubles the amplitude of the wave.

yes it does work. that why if you set the polarity of your speakers backwards, and point them towards the same spot, that spot will be almost silent.
also works well to eliminate any sound from a full mix, as long as you have the EXACT replica of the track you want to elminate.

to do phase cancellation the instrumental has to be exactly the same.......so unless the bam bam riddim version is the exact same recording it wont work.....

So I guess i'll have to go out and buy the actual record, since teh only versions there are around are the original, and some other lil' jon and pitbull rmx's.
Accapella's and instrumentals are nowhere to be seen

yeh and even then it might not work.......theres a lot of variables....yknow the insteumental might be a dubbed version thats a little bit different......it has to be musically exact as the original......and it really all depends where the vocal is placed in the mix.....
if you have the original you could try something like extraboy....although its a bit crap and you might need to be very creative with an eq.....whenever ive used it ive had to use a lot of reverb or delay and also fill up frequencies the sounds in the original take up.......

well i dunno ive never heard it ......but like any instrumental they might have spiced it up a bit with some dubbing or something.....it has to basically be the exact original just without the vocal.......i dunno chap im just speculating.i gave up trying to do that a while ago as its more hassle than its worth.......
buy a microphone and hire a session singer

the basic idea with it is that you can cancel out a mono vocal signal and create an instrumental......to do it the other way round is a nightmare and usually sounds a bit shite.......your best just digging deep in the crates and looking for promos that come with an acapella on the flip... al lot of hip hop and some house and funk is like that....and youll find big labels often do it with their pop artists in the hope someone will rip it off and help give it more promotion on the dancefloor........
