how do you want it to react? if you run them both through one compressor you will get that lowered tone of bass when the bassdrum kicks.
I dont believe this what youre after.. cause it sounds you know, like beny benassi-cheesiness

I want it to breath... When the bassdrum hits the bassline should get lower in volyme and then when the bassdrum is quiet the bassline should get higher in volyme. Then I want them on separate channels. So I want the funktion of the bassdrum driving the compression on the bassline but the bassdrum should be quiet. Then I have the bassdrum on another channel witch I compress with the other drums.
Is this possible? Do you understand?

Yes, use the sidechain, as you pointed out yourself...
I'd rather go for good EQing though, sounds better

Eq? An eq can't make any dynamic effects... I want it as an effect.... How does this sidechain work?

Put the signal you want to use to drive the compression in the sidechain. Put the signal you want to be affected by the compression in the normal input. That's all there is to it!

you get that cool Benni Bassili sound. you need a great quality compressor for it to sound pleasing to the ear's. i learn that compressor's are one of the most finicky for quality.... i could be wrong. as Cronic.

I just don't get it... I got for example waves C1 and fruityloops. I open one bassdrum and one bassline and put them on Fx 1 where I open C1. Then what?

Benny Bassili
I suppose it's Benny Benassi - an electro/house- producer, but i don't know how he gotten into this thread..
@ Abnormalbrain: You need two tracks/channels.
The first one, you put your kicks in, the second you put your bassline in.
If you want to compress your bassline each time a kick comes, you use the side-chain, in this case, you put the compressor on channel 2/bassline, and you tell the c1 wave scompressor the be sidechained => i.e. it only works when another signal comes in. But the main thing is the effectb you wanna use to sidechain smt has to be sidechain-capable. I know the compressors/limiters i logic are sidechain-capable, but as far as i'm concerned C1 waves isn't. I could be wrong here, there might be some a workaround solution.
(It's a bit like with vocoders: you need a carrire-sound and a modulator)

I mentiioned him in my first reply to Abnormal. since he uses that type of when-kick-kicks-bass-drops type of compression

It seems like this one have sidechain. But what I don't get is how the compressor in channel 2 can sence the dynamics in channel 1 and use this to process channel 2.

Well it uses a different input. Whether you work on one track/channel with a compression-unit or on two tracks with sidechaining, the principle is the same: waces will analyse an input, modifies it, and gives you an altered input or your new output. Where waves reads the input signal, doesn't matter
So luckily for you that's smt you don't have to break yer head over.
But i guess that's what abnormal brains do.

guess youre refering to that "satisfaction" hyped mainstream tune of his, Halph
the second I hear it (and I can, still, everywhere ffs) I can see perverted transvestites, techno-bitches and weekend-clubbers doing that cheesy dancing, it's not really dancing, more reminding of a snake's movements, twirling and whatnot. doesn't make me sick as before.. just really annoying and stupid
