Please check out my new track 'Heavy Metal Jungle' and post your comments here!!!
Thanks for the suggestions on the very early preview of this track - you'll hear lots has changed: the temporary Sepultura intro is gone and I gave it some structure. Sounds were made fiddling with various analogue vst's and recording the results. The drums are made up of clips from about 5 different amen loops, but none are played straight out. There are also another 3 snares, 4 bass drums, various hats, shakers, toms, cymbals etc. programmed along with them. The whole track was done in kontakt 2 (magoos the poo!).
Would love some feedback, especially on mixing cause since I'm still away in Sweden I only have my laptop and headphones (I miss you KRK's!). Also, my internet here is 15kB/s so downloading and reviewing songs is impossible (I expect this upload will take all night if it works at all). Saw lots of new tracks by Nick ZZ, Equipped, Opticassasin, Tech Diff, Soi, Broadside, Saphir, DJ Sensa, Sykotic, Teknyne, Rude etc. etc. - you lads have been hard at work - I look forward to checking them all out when I get back to Toronto.
This track has been deleted because a new version is available

The upload took over 2.5 hours! I noticed that when listening to it on the computer here, the song was sped up (but the MP3 is not sped up when listening to it on my laptop
) You'll know if its off if Flava Flav sounds like a chipmunk - if so disregard and I'll post again some other time.

tsssk more copyright issues.....
anyway cool intro....luv the atmos..
again props for the programming........but im just longing for a "normal" simple part to keep me interested really, its not even 3 minutres in and its starting to grate on me a little.....
i know its your style man, but maybe consider toning the breakcore/squarepusher/mad ass shit down just a bit.....the programming and production slkills are there by the sound of it....but for me it just needs...i dunno.....something that will sell it....i like it...but i could like it more. and the ends a bit sudden too

good job on the mastering and structure.. sounds mint! feels like a solid finished tune now.
the vocals kinda sound a bit distant but it doesnt really bother me much.. it actually gives a strange feel to the tune. did you do this on purpose?
the previous version was called A-Side.. if anyone isnt sure
i dont agree wif munki.. i like the chopped up style! its different and your getting better at keeping it flowing at the same time.. The most important thing is having your own style imo. Then you just have to perfect it
nice work

Skills to pay the bills man
Man, I've checked out your tunes over the course of time man and must say I like your style. Not sure if it's danceable, but sure as hell listenable. The thing that blows my mind about this the most is how you chop that shit so well and still keep it flowing without a hiccup. Everything is slick like oil man. The overall mix does sound a bit wide but I'm listening on the phones, it's a bit late to crank the juice so I can't give the full sound review. But still sounds nice and deep man. Serious ass break cutting. All in all man, it's a definite winner for me. I seriously like every part of it from breaks to synths and basslines. Big ups for this piece.
9/10 for me.

oh i agree......but you have to look at the ability of a company to market something like this and as optikassasin says ...."not sure its danceable" ....and lets face it....you dont get much dnb played in wine bars and chill out rooms......dont get me wrong like i said the programming is tight and it is good......but for me personally it just needs something to simplify it and hold my attention.

Wow, what a begining!!! And that vocal game you do - that rocks! And the break is good, though becomes a bit boring...
I like the basses, they sound pure junglist. This is becoming too boring... nice vocals, they add to the strenght of the thingie you have here...
your EQ is kinda not complete - the high freqs cant be heard good enuf (I mean, the hats etc)
Nice atmo, and those turntable noises rock!
The end is too abrupt, try adding something, that will add to the story of the tune.
6/10

Thanks for the reviews - very helpful to me, especially since I'll be trying to finsih this one off in Sweden.
Reckon: I'll lower the reverb send mix and bring the vocals a bit closer,
Opticassasin: the whole sampler has a stereo enhancer on it at 80% (never used this before) - I'll lower the % to narrow the mix (good ears man!)
Equipped: I love your idea to have the sub rolling along without the drums at some point - I'll for sure work on that.
Munki C/Opticassasin: I've never made tracks with any intention of of being played on a dancefloor (strictly for the heads! :rinse
, but criticism noted - if I ever wanted to get wider recognition, I'd have to follow DnB's many conventions more closely. For now, its just stress relieving hobby.
The main drop is very choppy and if you don't like it, I can imagine how this track could get boring or even anoying. I'm glad those of you who could bang your heads to this enjoyed it and all the edits.
I will try to shave a min. off, and I still plan to add a hi mid, off beat filtered lead to pop in and out around the main bass and drum hits.
And as Muad'Dib suggested, I'll give the hat hi frequency a boost.
I won't bother posting here again, so the finished version will be posted at the Acid Planet link in my signature in maybe about a week. Thanks again!

intro:
nice sounds, seamless loop, charming vinyl hissle
drop:
wow!
Mad algo-rhytmic edits indeed, and it just keeps going!!
at 04:00 some eerie synths or the fragments of the sample from the very beginning of the track, come in, they're a little lost between the amenmayhem, maybe some stabs or 'sharp' noises could brighten things up.
+
very digital synthbass, (not tkaing bout the sub here) which starts to become a bit dull, they're your favorite, no? You used an almost exact bass in 'None Would Escape', hehe (dope track!!)
copyrighted samples - please take Flav's vocal samples away and upload a -clean- edited version again

that same bassline, how do you do that?
squarepusher is our fore father, to deny the squarepusher sound is to deny the sound of DRUM AND BASS!
all thoes non-chopped up sounds, are phonies!
i love your shit, it's amazing. always rock!!!!
that sample get's repative anything else would be a welcomed surprise.
nice ending.
