Please check out my new track 'Silent Nova (Jungle Snipah aka Optikal Assassin Remix)' and post your comments here!!!
Ahhh, anothe rone of my older tracks I did last year for a remix contest. This one was actually originally done by King Tut aka DJ Moe over at Acid Planet which alot of people participated in back at that time. Big ups to Audio Assassin for hooking me up on this shit. I lost the original remix I did but by chance he happen to have a copy. Thanks bro. I know it's a bit older but I just haven't done really many tracks in the last year due to some real life things goin' on. I just thought it would be fun to share this one again. Just for anyone who may wanna grab a sneak peek at the original, it's still over at Acid Planet at this link ---> http://www.acidplanet.com/artist.asp?PID=355605&T=37439
I remember Teknikal Infektion did a sick ass remix on this one too, just wish I could find it :-( Anyhow, sorry for uploading old tunes guys', just thought since I had it, might as well make some use of it.
Actually, this song has lots of elements I like and some I don't like...
Personally, I don't think the piano fits...
Like the overall sound.. heavy enough, but that piano...
There's also one of the breaks which keeps anoying me, feels like you inserted an extra beat. I don't like that, makes it sound like you missed the loop, allthough I'm well aware that this is probably on purpose, I don't love things like that that much... Sometimes it works out fine, without destroying the rhytm, but this time it does kill the rhytm...
And then the drums doen't stick out, they seem to bee a bit too much in the background...
Certainly very promising, ... Gonna check out some other stuff by you now
Right on bro, thanks for the words. Yeah, unfortunately if you ever get a chance to hear the original there were alot of things that sounded pretty outta place. The piano was all stuff that was included in the remix material and I tried to use as many of the original elements as possible but trying to twist them as much as I could. I don't actually have this original mix and all the tracks so I can't really remember how I did alot of shit, but if I recall correctly, now that you mentioned it, I think there was one beat that I had a bitch of a time with that I had to compensate for it. The amens I used in this weren't even the ones in the original track. I had to reconstruct the whole break thing. The original breaks he used contained an ass load of panning and filtering which I couldn't work with. I think the original was somewhere in the 190 BPM range too, which was way too damn fast for me. I'm comfortable at 170-175. But thanks for the words man, no bad feelings, lol. I;m not sure if anyone would really care for this one. I just think the bassline was one of my best accomplishments for that time.
Yeah man lovin the mad ass amen's! This track has tunz of potential. The drum's are deffinetly low in the mix but "dam" I dig those beat's! Too bad you ain't got the originall mix anymore. Would have loved to add some ideas but what can you do without the framework. Well, hmm.. did you mean original mix as in a version of this, or the actuall song files and shit? Yeah man I dig this track, bad ass bass and deadly amen's, my cup of tea indeed.
the intro is nice...
the vox sample is fkn cool. used nicely...
nice reece and sub basslines... dey is bad ass bruvva. and sound nice...
really nice edits on the drums.
although there is a drum loop or something that doesnt end right or something... ruins the rythem... the break down is cool though... the kick n bass is hammering through nicely. nice little sounds fx. nice use of atmosphere. drop is nice. lil vox stabs nice
all sweet besides that lil drum prob...
good shit mate...
keep em coming. i also enjoy ur shit.

Actually the bassline was nothing more than two layered 808 bass drums distorted and filtered to hell. One was for the sub which I used full attack for a bit of punch so to say, the other was a filtered 808 bass drums with alot of attack to give it a glide feel. the rest was just trial and error and finding out what sounded best. I like this approach too cuz you can use reverb on the filtered bass line without muddying up the mix. Hope that all makes sense.
lol.

Yeah, I originally did this tune in FL studio back in version 4. At that time I had a real nasty habit of not creating zip files from within FL studio of my finished tracks so if others wanna see. Now i use that shit religiously. Everytime I finish a track, I create the zip file which packs all the samples and FLP file in one nice little zip package. Kinda sucks ass I don't have the project file man, I'd love to have ya take a stab with it. But here's the link with all the samples King TUT aka Dj Moe left up at Acid Planet for people to download and mix if you care to check it out and see what I had to work with. I'm not sur eif you have to register to get them tho. Click Here for the Samples page

Yeah man, that makes a whole lotta sense! Really appretiate your input, Mighty Assassin
! You da man!
Mate, just had a listen, the bassline is the phatest thing i ever heard!
Drum programming is really nice as well, one of the breaks sounds a little out of place, but the others are nice.
Vocals and piano really fit well into the track giving a nice build up and leave u waiting for the bass to kick in. This is a top tune bruv
This rocks, and the FX is great!! Nice producing...
the vocal rulez!!! wow, the break rulez!!! This is one of the more quality breaks every I heard on this site... this beats Killa Bee and Amazon Rain..
the voice causes troubles, because its kinda too loud compared with the tune.
I like the jungle experimenting most of all experiments...
the pause is good...good buildup, but is too like the first one... which I dislike. You could have changed the breaks a bit in this part, but they are ok like this...
Eq is good, but not excellent.
The end takes too much time - try cutting that down...
anyway, good tune, will keep it
peace

Always liked this tune man. Your remix was probably the best out of them. I still have tek's remix if u want that. But anyways man, i love the bass and amens in it and the whole atmopshere of the tune. Good tune man.
