i made the bassline to this track quite a while ago but never used them cuz they sounded soft
fucked em up a litlle with the delta force exponent an here's the result
i had an extremely good time makin this an really was feelin it myself

it still lacks an intro an a decent outro but here's what i got so far

mmmm, no replies? Sorry it's been soo long, i guess i must've overlooked this one. i won't just tell you how bad it could use some work man, so i'll try and be as helpful as possible. Intro for one. Seriously needs work mang. The bassline alone just doesn't work. The hihats are a good idea, but i feel more high pass filtering on the hats with a touch of highend reverb would give them a better feel. The hihats just sound too stock. I like to use a light touch of reverb for all my hihats with a short decay on the reverb. At least for me sometimes it helps fill out things a bit if done right. I really think a synth or some background sounds would have worked serious wonders for this. I know you said it was a bassline driven track, but the problem is is that's really all there is too it. The bassline, EQ it. Too much mid range on it. Maybe just passing the higher frequencies and bring down the mids would work well too. Remember man, basslines really work well when layered, one high pass and one sub. That way the high and low end aint conflicting too much. I think you pretty much know the rest as far as what it could use. I know this gonna sound silly man and prolly obvious to alot, but what I like to do when writing tracks, is before i start working on it, I sit down and listen to my favorite drum n' bass tracks for inspiration. Like figure out what kinda approach you want to take with your track and fire up a favey track that relates to your track to put yourself mor ein that mind set, then just listen really carefully how they do it. Everything from structure to sounds. And then I like to try and create all my own shit from scratch and try to make the sound as close to that. Not like imitating a song, but just how it sounds in terms of EQ'ing and structure. I'm no pro at it, but it has helped immensely when I get stuck or something just don't sound right. BTW, what software you use? Do you use FL Studio for composition? Just curious. Sorry for all the babble man and sorry it's been soo long since you've posted this. Bigup

im just gonna go quik style review....
i think the bassline is sweet... maybe need some eq work...
drums are pretty sweet, they could probably use some layering, because its pretty obvious what snare you are using... hats are good.
nice little variations. bassline can probably use a change up every so often just to make it abit more interesting. kick is nice though, it punchs alright, can probably use some more eq work on the drums.
break is alright.
last 2 mins is abit of a fuck around....
think of background noises... like some atmosphere... just some delyed stabs do in time of silence. some lil percussion samples in the background... something to keep it busy.
some good lil things in there, and some dodgy lil things in there...
u def getting better though man, keep it up.
