Can anyone again explain me how to group the instrments in a layer so when I open the piano roll in the layer, a different piano key is a different instrument?
I know that that was in a thread, but I cant seem to find it...

oh, for a different sound to each key, save the drum sounds in a loop, can be a simple one, like kick 1/4 snare 2/4 tom 3/4 hat 4/4 than save it as a small loop (pattern) then load it in Fruity Slicer.
you can even save the loop so each drum is a slice instead of using atuo detect.
i suggest using auto detect it helps add a bit of off time, and goes for a more solid hit.

Yeah but you cant send the kicks, snares and hats to separate effects if you do it like this, it's much better to do it how I said IMO.

I don't know if this works. I havn't tried it. For each sound in the sampler there is a keyboard. This keyboard have a yellow/orange mark, and this can be used to set wich notes that can be played. If you put different marks for different sounds and then layer. So if you have synth 1 from c1-c2, and synth 2 from c2-c3... you get the Idea.

is really any of this necisarry...gls is rihgt though for better sound, just send each sample toa diff mastering channel and send them all into another for compression etc...
but you guys are making the sequencingf process too complicated...just do them all in seperate lil bits, that way ntohign is in teh way and you dont get confused...seriosuly...

you know what, that could work if you did it with the layer, and grouped a whole bunch ofdrum hits under one Layer Channel. (as children under a layer). if you restricted each to a note and made that same note the keynote, you'd only get that drum sound for each of thoes notes, also allowing you too route each drum to a different FX.
but still, if you want different effect on different drums, you doo that before yo save them as a wave and put them in the FL Slicer.
it also helps to run it through a nice limiter, and anything else to sweeten/Warm the sound. like voxengo Warmafier or Lampthruster. there Elephant2 Hardlimiter is amazingly transparetn and great for mastering.
you mite notice the drum loop i ran through for the sample ehre, has thoes plug in's used on the master channle.

um sorry rude, hadn't seen yuor beat, wow thanks so much.
not sure i understand whats at issue here, but heres how i do beats if it helps: i just use a vst like RMIV linplug, load all the stuff into that, and then it comes automatically on the GM Drum map in CUbase. WIth RMIV and that, you can add fx and whatnot to your drums individually without effecting the main track and tweak em quite effectrively, even after youve put em in wav. Also I have to say, I personally would reccomend using a drum map over the piano roll any day of the week. i used to use the piano roll, and found it pretty unwiesly and hard to experiment with, particularly with faffing about assigning lengths and that. With the drum map, my beats improved overnight, it gives a bitter visual representation of teh beat, so its easier to see where you might try to add something
deffo going to post one tommorow.
