Please check out my new track 'Your Destiny' and post your comments here!!!

I'm having a pretty hard time keepin this one out of the red during mixdown. Still sounds a little muddy. Produced entirely in Reason 3. Contains a sample from Muaddib's speach sample pack. (thanks Muad!)

congas/bongos sound cool....not sure about the synth sound...just personal taste though....
lol.@muaddib
turn the beats up!!!!
or layer some more defined kick n snare with them....
vibe is quite chilled really.....kind of smoky atmosphere.
yeh like you said its a little messy.... but i like the movement on the lead/bass synth....

now step it up....start thinking about rewire - ing to cubase sx or logic.......do your programmin mainly in reason....and get the seperation of sounds by wiring individually to cubase....its either that or buy a souncard with loads of outs and a desk....but then you need the fx to go with that.....and a rack of hardware compressors isnt cheap....well.not for good ones anyway

Great track man. Loved the bongo's Pleased Everything on the level side of thing's sounded really good. Drum's certianly need more layering. That vocal Evil "It's your destiny" Evil work's really well with the track. Most of your samples sound really clean. Filtering on the drum's was nicley done. Cheers++Stu [color=skyblue]maggoo++

Cool bassline, but give it more mid so the distortion is a bit more up front Wink
The drums: nice, good edits and shit, but they don't shound phat enuf. I think they need some layering...

Overall the track doesn't have depth. I think you simply don't have enough stuff in there, it's too much of the same shit all the time. Try adding some other basslines and/or other drumkits

I like this one ... and regardless of what anyone says reason is perfectly fine if your comfortable with it ... Fuck the nay sayers.

Nice sample ... i like the drum stabs in the intro a taste of things to come ... and nice sub ... the bass is kinda fuzzy at places ... intentional ??

i dont like the glitch at the end of every drum bar though that got real annoyin ... and the bongos disappear during the body ...

ez bro

yeah the skins and pad at the intro give it a nice arabian night sound.
vocal sample is nice...
are the drums just a cut up loop? the edits in the intro are nice indeed. bassline is nice... could probably add more distortion over the top of it... as surya said, up the mid so it has some power.
drums need to be turnd up abit... and if the skins are in the body you cant hear them, so they would need some more high mid mid area eq boostin, they got nice lows from the intro.
i also thinks its abit chilld out with a smokey atmosphere but i love it. still heavy.
needs a little bit of tweakin but its sweet.

Thanks for the review guys!
@ Munki; yeah, for shure, you are definately right about rewiring. Oh and the beat does have an extra kick and snare layered, but I kept the levels kind low(maybe too low) just below being really audible through the other sounds.

@ Surya; I was trying to get the mids to be much more relevant, I can raise the distorted layer (this bass consists of 5 layers all treated differently) I kept it pretty low.

@ Arkitect; the bongos do not continue through the whole track, actually the faster bongos in the middle are completely different that the ones at the start. And I havent heard that click... still listening.

@Anfo; Yeah, the drums are a cut up loop, individual hits from Amen with an additional kick and snare layered.

So it sounds like I need to bring up the drum levels, and bring the distored bass out more. My headphoone aint the greatest so thanks for the listen. Bigup

Okay Tune - tight production however...
I aint bein funny here but followin your review of my latest track
I was expecting you to have the kind of change-ups you was telling me to use,
I can't hear none going on here

The track sounds almost the same throughout just repeatin itself on drop 2,

On the plus Im feelin the ethnics tabla/bongo's too, structures good, and mix quality is fine.
but the rest of the sounds seem to be there just for the sake of it.

Nice drops but them beats is all I've been hearing on this site lately
and to be honest Im fed up with em
and why so much bass on that intro sound/synth? is there an obsession with fatness?

Vox is ok but just plain old one liners
you could have done a bit more with em ie, delayed them out or built a logarithm with em.
But i do like the actual theme.

Later

Wink

Cool Sfx and small guitar melody. Vocal sample sounds ok not peticularly my taste.
Reason 3 ? when ure mixing down the track in reason 3 do youhave a mastering suite at the top of the whole rack? That will help with keeping it out of the red.

Overall one pretty junglistic bombastic track.

like the bongo's very nice and clean... plus that rolling wave of a synth very nice likin the breaks too very funky... but beat is samey i just think needs to be a bit funkier.. sound fx add a lot to the track likin that but still sounds alot like youve got 2 sequences goin with nothin else... sounds empty... add to it to make it more fuller..
could be a big one this tho with the effort...
nice one

Ok...
@ Dub: LOL, you should read some of my other reviews I give...yes there must be some kind of obsession with fatness...haha, no really, I don't know. You are right though track could use some more variation after second drop. Bigup

@ Bigfire: Yup, I do use a masteringsuite after the mixer, but also each individual sound may have its own EQ, Compression, etc... still, I kept it a little in the reds, I don't mind a little... Bigup

@2Ginger: yeah you are absolutly right about the 2 sequeces... I just got kinda bored and didn't want to put the kind of time into it that I put into creating the first 32 break segment. No one else seemed to notice though. Bigup

Thanks to all who reviewed keep 'em coming...

to start with i like the intro - nice conga samples. Sounds like a guitar in the intro? When the beat starts coming in the jungle vibes start to kick in. That nasty swervey bassline - im in two minds about, i think its dirty in a good way but on the other hand i think that could be slightly more melodic (if there is such a thing for dark basslines!!). Would it be an idea to bring the guitar sample in more when the beat is rolling. The "its your destiny" sample is wicked. I feel that you could have possibly used more fx samples in cerain parts particulary the intro. So overall i think nice intro, love the way the beat kicks in. One more thing i think that the use of more synths would make this a fuller tune, i know its a jungle vibe but nowadays you can fuse pretty much anything together. im a fan of this tune either way - much respect
