Please check out my new track '++aTTeMpS++' and post your comments here!!!
This is a expera'mental' track for me. A departure from the dark and there is a little piano jam in there. Hope you like it.Still a work in progress. Cheers for some reviews.

Overall a huge improvement in the structure area!!! now you've got it!
As usual the sounds and druming are great, and now that you have a hang of the general structure part it's nice to hear drops, stops, more or less where you expect. Very well done. Really love the live palyed piano at the end, nice touch!!!
The bass is quite high and over powers quite a lot of the tune, if you can adjust it down a bit it would be far better, the bass is great, just a little loud and is killing a lot of the other elements in the track.
Samples, and sounds are great, very nice flow throughout the tune.
Apart from that, as I said, great improvement!!! looking forward to future tunes!!

gotta say that i thing everything is real unproportioned ... and i gotta say that the suib is crackin ... and not in a good way ...
the intro could have been left without the amen breaks ... and maybe just be left with the washes and the piano synth ...
something sounds awfully distorted ... watch out for that ...
i like your drum work very nice ....

Think the intro should probably have been left drum free, seems to just jump straight in there a bit. Some distortion issues too, sounds becomes a bit crackly. but on the whole i like it. I see u r at a similar stage to me, you have ideas but struggle in the sound quality dept. I'm sure this will come with time.

very good vibe, I feel it
something lacks and it's the sounds. arhitekt said disproportional - IMO hes right.. reworking those sounds would improve the mixdown, clean it out. this tune deserves it, you deff have ideas, that pianoline rocks!!!
but the mix is very messy and makes the track uneasy to listen to, which should be, accordin to the style... the low end is badly distorted in some parts, could well be clipping around too.
on the other hand, structure is good and drum programming plays a big role in it
now I listen to it again, it really has potential, the stabby chord makes a nice groove.
with a clear defined mix this would rock for sure, some smart eqing might help that

Abrupt intro. Maybe use some lighter drums prior to the drop. Some killer timestretched stuff going on - fantastic. WHOA MAN, that synth at 0:33 is amzing (VIRUS C I assume) - huge, evil but still manages to blend really nice with that splendid piano. When the tune gets going at 1:29, it sounds really good to me, some slight eqing and that will be a heafty body to this track. Lovely bouncing amens, playing off each other nicely - those snares make my head feel like its a pinball caught between two bumpers!
Fast and razor sharp edits. Start stop structure works best when you keep the hats going like you did right near the end of the track. Piano skills are wicked - nice work flanagan! Some really nice elements - fiddle with the eq - beef up the amens with a few extra kicks, snares, hats etc. and this'll be off to the derby magoo.

This is pretty cool.
The synth part is nice and juicy and the drums are nice and hectic.
The sub is not so good, there is quite a lot of fuzz over it and this makes the bad quality of the sample fairly obvious. It would be fairly easy to recreate the sound yourself and I think it would make a big differance.
The piano part is cool and a nice rythm,a little bit tacky but I guess thats the intention.
I only have 2 little gripes. I think that the drums need lots more variation, even just a fill every 4or 8 bars to keep the tune rolling along. The beat is real good but gets a bit repetative fairly quickly.
The other problem is the mix. Everythimg sounds messy and undefined.
The mistake people make a lot of the time, is to EQ every channel on its own, eg soloing the bass, getting it to sound really bassy. then soloing the drums and getting them to sound really full etc.
The problem with this is that when you play everything together there will be all sorts of shared frequencies which will culminate in a messy mix.
Try figuring out what the main part of the tune is, maybe the piano, and build and adjust everything around that. With regards to the drums and bass, try to take some of the sub out of the kick but add a bit of presence to it. This way the main rumble will be the bass but the kick will still have a punch to it. The main problem with the amen is that the kick is really flabby, so if you havent already, layer a really punchy kick over the top.
This is a good tune which would benefit from a good mix.

here i go .... intro is cool, tight nigga ,tight
i really don't like the piano
(x-cept for the intro purpose an solo, nice work)
i think you drumz is pretty tight nice cuttin on your breakz
love your work on the backgroundsynth an the poundin subwoofer bass
timing error with the hats at 2:47
at 3:08 your piano acttually fucks up the beat byè bringin' false tones (check it)
i'm not really in to this release thas to much of a (no offense though
)
wannabe-jungalist with some bonecuttin' dnb synths in it
(without the piano i'd like it better
)
keep the scene alive

I agree on everything you said. After listening to this trak a bunch of time's I relized that the only thing holding it together was the drums and they are way to dam repeatative, 2:43 sound's pathetic that's where the true wannabe shit goes down! With this track I made the biggest mistake in d&b I got impatiant and as a result didn't give the trak any depth. Cheers for the wake up! ++Stu Maggoo++
